Based on study.com, animal
abuse means to physically
caused harm or suffering upon
any non-human. However, it
also refers to where a human
fails to properly take care of an
animal under their care.
Meaning, neglecting an animal
is also considered a form of
abuse.
Animal abuse, is also known as animal
neglect, animal cruelty or cruelty to
animals. Generally speaking, it’s illegal to
neglect an animal under your care such as
withhold food, water, shelter, veterinary
care or clean and safe living environment.
These would be consider as a form of
animal abuse. It’s also typically illegal to
purposely inflict any type of harm on an
animal.
4. WHY ABUSE?

SIGNS
ABANDONMENT
Pay attention to animals’
signs of distress. While
they are unable to speak,
animals can express their
anxiety and stress
through whining, howling,
or barking. If there are
consistent audible signals,
urgent care is most likely
required.
ANIMAL HOARDING
Too many animals on one
property is a sign of
animal hoarding, which
leads to cruelty, neglect,
and abandonment.
PHYSICAL INJURIES
Noticeable wounds,
severe matting and
manage, signs of
starvation like visible
bones, and open sores
are all obvious signs of an
abused animal.
AGGRESIVE BEHAVIOUR
While all acts of
aggression do not
indicate abuse is taking
place, behaviors like
hiding, cowering, and
fear-biting, especially
around an owner, could
suggest abuse is taking
place.

INSIDE THE WOOL
INDUSTRY (SHEEP
ABUSE)
An investigation of several
shearing sheds in both
Australia and the United
States, where workers were
seen violently punching
sheep in the face, stamping
and standing on the
animals’ heads and necks
and beating and jabbing
them in the face with
electric clippers and a
hammer. Some sheep died
from the abuse.
BEAR BILE FARMING
Bear bile farming is a cruel farming
system designed to extract bile from
the gallbladders of living bears for
use in traditional Chinese medicine.
Some mammals in captivity in zoos
in Asia also suffer with injury and
disease. Many wild animals in
captivity even self-harm due to the
frustration and boredom of constant
confinement. Most receive no
medical care and are left to suffer
alone. Most farmed bears are
starved and dehydrated, and suffer
from multiple diseases and malignant
tumors that ultimately kill them.
Bear's bile is extracted using various
invasive techniques, all of which
cause severe suffering, pain and
infection.
CHINA ANIMAL ABUSE
Life for millions of dogs and cats in
China is dangerous. Some are
abandoned pets, left to fend for
themselves after being dumped by
their owners. Many are strays born
on the streets. Government
authorities organised brutal killing
campaigns in an attempt to reduce
stray dog and cat populations.
Animals Asia has rescued many
dogs, cats, puppies and kittens
who have suffered horrendous
abuse at the hands of people who
see them as 'pests' — such as
puppy abuse, when the dog
pictured below was scalded with
boiling water and thrown from a
high rise building. And kitten
abuse, with a disabled kitten
abandoned on the streets. And
these are not the only dangers they
face. It's estimated that in China
alone,10 million dogs and 4 million
cats, are slaughtered for their meat
each year

DOCUMENT THE DETAILS PREPARE TO TESTIFYSPEAK UP/CALL 911
If you witness overt violence against an
animal or suspect it, speak up! If you do
not feel safe intervening in a situation
directly, call 911. It is essential to
contact law enforcement when violence
is involved since it is likely part of an
ongoing pattern that may include
violence against people as well. If you
are traveling or in a community that is
not familiar to you, you can look up the
local police department.
Tell the officer as many details of the
situation as you can: location, date,
time, description of the people and
animals involved. Video and
photographic documentation, even on a
mobile phone, can bolster a legal case.
Provide names of others who may have
witnessed the incident. Remain on the
scene until authorities arrive if you can
do so safely.
While you may remain anonymous,
the legal case will be much stronger
if you are willing to identify yourself
and testify to what you witnessed. A
human witness is crucial for building
a strong, prosecutable case

CONCLUSION
PROTECT
THE
ANIMAL,
END THE
VIOLENCE.
In conclusion, animal cruelty wont stop if you
ignore it. Without a movement or an action by
any of you out there, animals around the world
will continue to suffer and tortured by us
humans. We are the one who can stop this
cruelty. We are the one who can make the world
peace. Based on my perspective, by torturing
and killing animal it is a starter, a first step in
becoming a notorious serial killer. We can make
the world peace by lessen the crimes and
violence – which is one of it is abusing an
animal. Animals have a right to live without fear
or pain, and we have a responsibility to step in if
their rights aren’t respected.
