1. CONCEPT PITCH

2. • So I have decided to use the title ‘After Hours’ for my horror movie trailer
because paranormal activity usually takes place after hours.
• Ghosts an apparition of a dead person which means ghosts is our after life.
TITLE

3. A newly single mother named Amina and her daughter May moved from the busy town of
London to the small quiet neighborhood of Chilsehurst to get away from past drama and to
start a fresh new life. Little did they know, they left with one problem but end up with
something even worse. When May is exploring the attic, she falls from the ladder and hits
the head on the floor. On the next morning, May does not wake up and stays in coma, but
the doctors are not able to diagnose her problem. Couple months later, unusual things
happen in the house. Amina had an aura that the house is haunted so she went of and
looked for a physic reader, who also happened to be her friend named Rachel to see if
something is actually going on in the house. Rachel explained the daughter (Ava) of the
previous owner has died in this very house for unknown reason but all she knows that she
had an unhealthy relationship with her mother. Rachel concluded the reason why Ava is
tormenting Amina because she still holds a grudge against her own mother and therefore
resents every mothers who’s out there and grasp onto every opportunity she gets to make
their life a living hell. Among these entities there is a demon that needs May's body to
cause pain to Amina. Rachel performed exorcism on may’s body to get rid of Ava’s
demonic soul.
SYNOPSIS

4. • Protagonist: is the newly divorced mum named Amina, who’s taking care
of her only daughter and she’s the one who tries to get her daughter’s soul
back in her body with the help of her physic friend named Rachel.
• Antagonist: Ava the demonic ghost who possesses the body of May and
tries to make Amina’s life hell as she still holds an resentment against her
own mother.

5. • The sub genre that I have picked for my horror movie trailer is
psychological horror. This is because it is popular in modern day cinema
and it usually attempts to create realism to a certain level to inflict fear in
tis audience.
• This genre mainly focuses on possession of the human body and dark
forces, which can remain spiritual presence.
SUB GENRE

6. • The Trailer will be predominately targeted at teenagers.
• I have picked teenagers as the target audience because they might able to
relate to the gist of the movie trailer. For instants holding a grudge against
your parents and this may cause you to retaliate against them.
TARGET AUDIENCE

7. • I have taken the child being in a coma from Insidious.
• I have taken problematic relationship between mother and daughter from
the ring. For instants, the reason why Ava is possessing May’s body is
because she wants to torture May’s mother as she still hold resentment
against her own mother.
• I have got inspired by the movie Grudge as the female ghost still holds the
grudge for what her husband has done to her. I have applied this to my
own trailer by Ava(demonic figure) still holding a grudge against her
mother and this cause her to retaliate against other people.
INSPIRATION

8. I am planning to use:
• white paint
• black eye liner
• long black wig
• A dirty long white dress
I got the inspiration to use these type of makeup from The Grudge and The
Ring because the demonic figure that is played by females in both of those
movie looks quite similar, in terms of their hair, their outfit and they both
have pale complexion. However, the girl from the ring looks more like a dead
corpse and the girl from the grudge looks like a ghost.
MAKE UP AND CLOTHING

9. • I have decided to use a house as the predominant location for my trailer
because most supernatural horror movies that I have seen takes place in a
house.
• Majority of paranormal activity takes place in a house to create realism.
For instants, if I would’ve picked another location the audience might not
get as scared because they might not able to relate to it but if I shot this
trailer in a house then the audience might get more frightened as they’re
more able to relate to it.

10. • 1. A newly divorced mother moving into a new house with her daughter.
• 2. The daughter May wonders off and starts exploring the house.
• 3. May goes to the attic and falls over as she climbs down the ladder
• 4. May goes into a coma.
• 5. Ava (demonic ghost) possesses May’s body and starts to torment May’s
mother.
