SALVADOR DALI: WORKS FROM THE SPANISH NATIONAL COLLECTION WIL L ON
VIEW AT THE BALTIMOR E MUSEUM OF ART
(Baltimore, Maryland)- April 30th, 2013- The Baker Museum of Art (BAM) is
proud to welcome a visiting exhibition from the Spanish National Collection.
Salvador Dali had a tremendous career and gave many of his pieces to the
Spanish Royal Kingdom, dictated in his will upon his death. The exhibition will
debut on June 1st and will end on July 15th. The display is temporary so please
be sure to view the unique collection very soon!
The museum will welcome twelve important Dali
works on loan from the National Collection of
Modern Art in Spain - Madrid's MuseoNacional Centro
de Arte Reina Sofia. This selection of paintings will
expand our knowledge of Dali's diverse production of
art.
The Royal Inheritance, paintings which came to the
Kingdom of Spain as heir to Dali's estate, will present
works that have never been on view in America before, including still lifes,
the stunning stereoscopic work Las Meninas, portraits of his wife, Gala, and
later work, with a mathematical theme.
The exhibition begins with examples of Dali's precise technical skill in four
paintings from 1918 to 1924 of pristine still lifes and nude studies
