As a Digital, Data and Technology Fast Streamer you will design, build and run services
which are used by millions of people every day. Services such as GOV.UK, Apply for a driving
licence or Setup a private limited company.
Roles
You will try a range of roles including Delivery Manager, Product Manager, Content
Designer, User Researcher, Data Scientist, Digital Policy Officer and more.
Pay: £45-55k at Grade 7
Timeline:
Years 1 & 2 - four 6-month placements. Projects may include creating tools which make it
easier and faster for people to access government services.
Years 3 & 4 - two 12-month placement. You’ll own an exciting project, tasked with more
greater responsibilities while keeping up with your career development. By the end of your
final 12-month placement, you will be a leader equipped with some of the most highly
sought after digital, data and technology skills.
26. Project managers are the people who get the ball rolling; finding the best path forward and
identifying the resource requirements, and obtaining buy in.

28. • Every year, government spends £160bn with private suppliers on
a huge range of goods and services, from the construction and
operation of prisons, to the connectivity systems that enable
battlefield communications for our armed forces.
• Your role could include anything from managing multimillion-
pound IT contracts to working on the strategy for future
procurement of medicines.
• The Commercial Fast Stream is three years long. This consists of
2x 12-month postings, followed by 2x 6-months posting.
• If you pass the assessments at the end of the scheme, you can
expect a salary of £58k+, as well as up to 15% performance-
related pay on top of this!
29. • In HR you can quickly take an influential role in
the running of the Civil Service.
– Manage recruitment, departmental events, and

qualification in HR.

30. • Requires an economics-related degree: 2:1 or higher, or 50% of a mixed degree to be in economics.
– Primarily the analysis and interpretation of data to support policy.
