3.1 History of The Sangamner Merchants’ Co-operative Bank
Sangamner
Through the Sangamner Association in 1962-63, the idea was to have a
financial institution helping merchants in the city of Sangamner. At that time, “Nagar
Urban Bank” was the only bank associated with the business class in Sangamner city,
but the bank business was running from Nagar and there was delay in getting the
work done from the customer. At the thought of Sangamner City, the bank should be
a bank to help small traders, and on May 16, 1966, the bank was formed as “The
Sangamner Merchant Co-operative Bank Ltd, Sangamner”.
At the time of registration of the bank, the word Merchant Bank was criticized at the
government level. The merchant bank and the founding board of the bank, for the
name of “Merchant Bank”, had to fight Sangamner Merchant with the name
“Merchants” with the help of the then Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr B.J.
Khatal. The Sangamner Bank emerged.
The merchants in 30 to 40 years of age have come together and merchant
banks have come together. Today we are looking at all of our fruits. The bank has
been linked from the beginning to the general merchants. The bank started
functioning on the small capital of 211 members, Rs 44000 per share capital and Rs
174000. Small business owners, professionals, new businessmen, young people,
traffic vendors By this everyone distribution of loans made by the Bank to help to
business growth. The merchant bank of Sangamner city is also the destination of the
merchant bank in the prosperity of Sangamner city and the emergence of the
economy. Hence, traders from the city of Sangamner say that the bank is involved in
various social activities.

Today, Sangamner Merchant Bank has transformed into a huge tree. K.
Onkaranathji Malpani and his colleagues have started a very strong financial pulse of
Sangamner city, which has started with a lot of hard work, stubbornness and
perseverance. At the beginning of the foresight, the head office of the bank, outside of
the city, and the magnificent architecture, seems to be in the centre of the city. This
road bank has become bankrupt due to various banks surround Bank has expanded its
work by establishing branches at Sangamner Market Peth, Akola, Sinnar. Although
the competition would have increased in a big way, Merchant Bank has maintained its
position as the largest bank in Sangamner. The new generation directors, who came
after the decade of 1990s, have succeeded in keeping the bank in progress as quickly
and transparent.

  • 5. 5 The Sangamner Merchants’ Co-operative Bank Ltd. ,Sangamner 3.1 History of The Sangamner Merchants’ Co-operative Bank Sangamner Through the Sangamner Association in 1962-63, the idea was to have a financial institution helping merchants in the city of Sangamner. At that time, “Nagar Urban Bank” was the only bank associated with the business class in Sangamner city, but the bank business was running from Nagar and there was delay in getting the work done from the customer. At the thought of Sangamner City, the bank should be a bank to help small traders, and on May 16, 1966, the bank was formed as “The Sangamner Merchant Co-operative Bank Ltd, Sangamner”. At the time of registration of the bank, the word Merchant Bank was criticized at the government level. The merchant bank and the founding board of the bank, for the name of “Merchant Bank”, had to fight Sangamner Merchant with the name “Merchants” with the help of the then Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr B.J. Khatal. The Sangamner Bank emerged. The merchants in 30 to 40 years of age have come together and merchant banks have come together. Today we are looking at all of our fruits. The bank has been linked from the beginning to the general merchants. The bank started functioning on the small capital of 211 members, Rs 44000 per share capital and Rs 174000. Small business owners, professionals, new businessmen, young people, traffic vendors By this everyone distribution of loans made by the Bank to help to business growth. The merchant bank of Sangamner city is also the destination of the merchant bank in the prosperity of Sangamner city and the emergence of the economy. Hence, traders from the city of Sangamner say that the bank is involved in various social activities. Bank founder and president LATE Onkaranathaji Malapani, Vice President of Babusetha Mehta , LATE. • 6. 6 Today, Sangamner Merchant Bank has transformed into a huge tree. K. Onkaranathji Malpani and his colleagues have started a very strong financial pulse of Sangamner city, which has started with a lot of hard work, stubbornness and perseverance. At the beginning of the foresight, the head office of the bank, outside of the city, and the magnificent architecture, seems to be in the centre of the city. This road bank has become bankrupt due to various banks surround Bank has expanded its work by establishing branches at Sangamner Market Peth, Akola, Sinnar. Although the competition would have increased in a big way, Merchant Bank has maintained its position as the largest bank in Sangamner. The new generation directors, who came after the decade of 1990s, have succeeded in keeping the bank in progress as quickly and transparent.
