Statement Of Purpose: Tulane
My interest in attending Tulane above all other Universities revolves around my desire to truly
grow as an individual over the next four years of my life by genuinely taking a step towards
making myself uncomfortable. Up until now, by virtue circumstance, I have played things very
safe; growing up in the same house with the same friends in the same town with the same problems
for the entirety of my years on this planet. That being said, I have always maintained a very
ambitious and realized understanding of what it is that I want to accomplish out of my life. I find
Tulane to be the influx of cultures, music, language, and mystery that I am hoping to experience.
Communicating and connecting with other people has always been one of the more

"Non Sibi Sed Suis" or "Not for oneself, but for one's own." Tulane's motto is not about education,
but about serving the world by using your knowledge and being selfless. Success is measured by
the impact you have had, not by personal gain. I believe that I shouldn't be selfish and only care
about how things benefit me. I should be concerned about others because there are 7 billion people
on this Earth and each one of them deserves to have someone that can look out for them. As an
American millennial, I've grown up in a time of great achievements for humanity, but also enormous
leaps backwards. Islamophobia, racism, and sexism are just a few deeply help beliefs that repress
members of society and reinforce corrupt institutions. Surprisingly,

Tulane Personal Statement
My interest in Tulane started after a conversation I had with one of my philosophy professors. I
had indicated to him that I was interested in pursuing philosophy in college and he asked me which
university I was most interested in. Unfamiliar of the strength any university's philosophy program,
my professor told me that I should consider Tulane. I was told at a considerable length that high
achieving philosophers had pursued their bachelor's there and I couldn't go awry in attending such a
program. After a bit of research, I would actually go awry in pursuing philosophy at any other
university. To start, Tulane's philosophy program includes a diverse range of topics that would
provide an excellent start to my philosophical career. From PHIL 1060 Critical Thinking, to PHIL
2600 Business Ethics, to PHIL 3500 Buddhism, and to PHIL 6150 Freedom and the Self, there is
no shortage of opportunities to learn about a new topic in the field of philosophy at Tulane. If there
were to be a shortage in opportunities, it would be the four years it would take to obtain my

In order to graduate from Tulane, one must first complete a service learning course and give back
to the New Orleans community. Through my own life, I have tried to find ways to give to my
community by tutoring, volunteering, and being a friend, but at Tulane, I could expand my efforts
greatly. Facilitating in a middle school outreach program, working with a group of students to
revitalize decrepant areas of New Orleans, and researching ways to improve how one can most
effectively give back to its community are all opportunities that I could envision myself doing at
Tulane University. Peaking my interest even further, Tulane Community Service Fellows is program
specifically for students, such as myself, who are interested in benefiting their community in

Essay About Tulane University
The essential question is "Why are you interested in attending Tulane University?", but in all honesty
it should be "Why not Tulane?". No I have never had the chance to visit Louisiana, none–the–less
Tulane, but I have always yearned to visit the unique state. What better way to explore the state
than by attending a college located there? Like the state where Tulane University is located, it
seems to be a very diverse yet fun place to live out my college life. My interest in the college range
from the academic reputation of the school, the location and social environment, and the overall
attractiveness of the college. A couple months back I met with a Tulane Admissions representative
who first sparked my interest in the college. She opened my eyes, and made me ponder the reality
that I could actually see myself as part of the school. Compared to the other schools that were also
being represented (NYU, University of Miami, Georgia Tech, and the George Washington
University), Tulane grab my interests the most. Before attending the information session about the
colleges, I can honestly say I had never heard of Tulane. However, the representative did such an
amazing job informing us about the...show more content...
We all have those shows that we have sat back and binged watched from Scandal, Grey's Anatomy,
Empire, Burn Notice, Vampire Diaries, to even the older shows like Lost and Friends. Currently
one of my Fall favorites is Scream Queens, and the location where this show happens to be filmed is
non–other than Tulane University. The slasher–comedy has hopped to the top of this season best
new series, and I cannot deny that I am a huge fan of this celebrity filled show. The college is
becoming more involved in the television industry, and is being noticed for things other than there

Tulane Scholarship
My parents have always encouraged me to strive to be my best self. They've always wanted me to
attend college so that I could follow my dream of going to medical school to become a physician.
This scholarship would not only help pay for college expenses, but encourage me to succeed.
I plan to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Out of the six schools I applied to I
was accepted to all and offered scholarships to all but one. I chose Tulane because of its academic
rigor and great location. I'm not set on a major yet, but it will most likely be neuroscience,
biochemistry, or cell and molecular biology. It is also extremely possible that I will double major in
two of my three choices. As for minors, I want to study French, political

Edward Tulane Essay
Edward Tulane was an inanimate elegant looking yet "jaunty, tired, full of ennui" china rabbit
possessed by Abilene Tulane who lived with her parents and her grandmother Pellegrina in a house
on Egypt street. It was Pellegrina who had him made as a gift to the birthday girl Abilene. Edward
had a characteristic of being so self–centered and did not care for anyone but himself, which really
disappointed Pellegrina and led him to his miraculous journey. The journey began when he was
accidentally thrown overboard of a ship that was on its voyage to England. After two hundred and
ninety–seven days lying faced down on the ocean floor, "the storm, in its ferocity, actually flung
him all the way out of the sea" and had him caught in an old fisherman's net. That man, called
Lawrence, brought the rabbit home where he was treated like a child of his and his wife Nellie's
after being renamed...show more content...
The wanderer Bull, who gave the china rabbit a new name – Malone, kept him alongside on the road
before Edward was tossed out of a train the moment he actually felt something for his seven–year
companions and ended up in a vegetable garden as a scarecrow. And the rabbit was, once again,
"rescued" by Bryce, a little boy who had a sick sister Sarah Ruth. She was the first one to ever treat
Edward with so much affection and warmth while constantly suffering from coughing. Bryce then
renovated the rabbit into a string puppet to entertain his poor sister by moving the strings and
making him dance. Unfortunately, Sarah did not make it to the end of Edward's journey. She finally
stopped breathing leaving Jangles, the name she gave to Edward, with overwhelming sadness since
he, for the first time, cared and wanted to protect someone so much. He eventually found out that he
also had a heart, one that "ached for Sarah Ruth". The death of Sarah Ruth led to Bryce's decision to
take the china rabbit with him to

My Visit To Tulane
I somehow managed to visit Tulane of what I most certainly feel was the hottest day of the year.
While walking around campus on my tour, I was positive I would faint. Despite this, however, I
still fell in love with Tulane and the surrounding city of New Orleans. I have always loved history
and if one thing can be said about New Orleans it is certainly not lacking any history. While
exploring the French Quarter and the Garden District I became fascinated with the rich culture
bursting at every turn. The ghost stories, the voodoo magic, the music, and even just the colorful
atmosphere all filled me with intrigue. Tulane seems to mirror that rich culture I so value. With its
strong connections to New Orleans, given the extensive community service

College Essay About Tulane
New Orleans is a city that has always been immensely fascinating to me. I love that every street
corner is teeming with culture and excitement. I have been visiting New Orleans ever since I was
a young child and I love it. The energy of the city is so uplifting and inspiring. Earlier this year
when I first learned about Tulane, I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to apply. My hometown of
Austin, Texas is also a city filled to the brim with life and culture, but it is so different from New
Orleans. Attending Tulane would be a major challenge for me but one that I would be extremely
willing to take on. I would be exposed to so many new things and would be forced to step out of
my comfort zone. It would be a thrilling opportunity to live in such a unique city during a time
when I am exploring who I am. I particularly love how Tulane incorporates the local culture into
school activities. The crawfish boils and Mardi Gras traditions are things that I have not been
exposed to in Texas, and I would be excited to experience them at Tulane.
I am applying to the history major at Tulane. History is my favorite subject in high school, and I
would be thrilled to continue my studies at Tulane. I love that students are required to study

I am inspired by the world and would love to explore more of it during my college experience. I love
that Tulane allows students to travel to every corner of the world for their studies. Being someone
fascinated by history, studying in places where history was made abroad would be encouraging and
inspirational. I enjoy that Tulane offers summer programs for students to study abroad, and partners
with other universities for study abroad programs. It expands opportunities for students, and allows
them to broaden their horizons. I think that Tulane has one of the best study abroad programs for
