The name of the book that this report describes is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This
story takes place in New York City in the summer of 1922. This time period is often referred to as
"The Roaring Twenties," which was the good time in the United States before the crash of the stock
market in 1929.
The story begins with the move of Nick Carraway from the Midwest to West Egg in the district of
Long Island, New York during the summer of 1922. Nick's point of view is used for the duration
of the story, as he is the main character. West Egg is described as a very wealthy area full of people
who made lots of money very quickly and love to show it off. These people also haven't been rich
long enough to make any social connections, unlike Nick, who has connections in East Egg, where

Then, Gatsby tells Nick that it was Daisy who was driving his car and hit Myrtle, but Gatsby
intends to take the blame. George Wilson, Myrtle's husband, somehow jumps to the conclusion that
whoever killed his wife was her lover. After discovering the owner of the car involved in the deadly
accident, he sets out to get his revenge.
Nick stops by Gatsby's mansion after work the afternoon after the accident to find that George
Wilson had shot Gatsby and, afterwards, shot himself. Soon after this event, Nick composes a
funeral for Gatsby, parts ways with Jordan Baker, and moves back to the Midwest because of how
revolted he is with New York and the wealthy.
I would recommend this book because of how exceptional the story is. However, I am not enthused
how F. Scott Fitzgerald chose to write it because of the lengthy sentences and words that were
beyond my vocabulary(I had to look up the definition of many words in this book). Overall, I can see

unleashed when the cover is flipped open and the words start to be read. Books do far more than
entertain. They educate and practice the process of escapism with the reader. Encyclopedias and

He wants closure about what happened between them. Daisy confronts Gatsby about an affair she
had with Tom, and he doesn't even care at this point because what they had was 'real'. She claims
