Current Events Speech
Today, I am here to talk to you about something that everyone should be aware of, and something
that should put Trump to shame. On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Donald Trump had sent an order to
our military for the approval to send a bomb to Syria. The main question circling around the media
is, "Why did we exactly bomb Syria?". The main reason on why Trump sent out the order was to
scare Assad. Assad, first off, isBashar al–Assad. He is the 19th and current president of Syria. Assad
first violated a "red line", that our previous president, Barack Obama had set in 2013 during the
contract to end war. Assad had then signed a contract saying that he won't use chemicals to tame
down Syrian rebels and instead, use different...show more content...
So what if this is going on. So what, it is not happening to me. Why should I care? Let me tell you
why you should care. First, what if you were in their place. After everything that is going on, with
all the attacks that are happening, wouldn't you want help? Wouldn't you want aid? Wouldn't you
want people to care for you? You would. If you were being constantly attacked, because you want
your freedom, the freedom to say anything to do anything, you would. We are lucky enough to be
in America, where we are free to express our opinions without going against the law. Imagine if
that right was taken away. Your opinion just went from being what you thought, to an illegal way
of expressing your thoughts. This impacts us because our country's government is being
represented as as a country who takes our victories when another country is vulnerable, do you
want your government to be represented like that? Do you want to be represented in a way where
we win when someone is on the ground, hurt? Because I personally don't know about you, but I
don't want to be represent by a government like that. If you stand with me, if you agree with what I
am saying, then you will use your voice. After all, two voices are stronger than

Briefly describe a current event. Discuss how this current event has impacted you directly.
I have an afghan friend named Haisha. We met in the 6th grade at Greenfield Elementary School
and became best friends. On April 13, 2017 our military, under orders from President Trump dropped
the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) in Afghanistan to kill Isis fighter. While I understand the
president's responsibility is to protect our country from it's enemies, it should not be done with the
blatant disregard for innocent human lives. A bomb of that magnitude has repercussion will beyond

rolling. I choose to spend the next fours years in college because I feel like a 4–year school is the
right place for me. Here are some reasons why I choose to spend the next 4 years in college. First of
all, to receive a well–rounded education. At the undergraduate level, colleges and universities
require that students take courses in an exceedingly range to assist students understand what
areas of study are best for them, as well offer a broad base of academic knowledge. Second of all, to
be eligible to have your dream job. As I examine job listings for entry level positions, I notice that
many jobs require a bachelors degree. Finishing for a degree at a 4–year college or university will
give me the academic skills I need to be prepared for the demands for my future jobs. Studies have
shown that employees who have graduated from 4–year colleges and universities tend to earn more
money than students with associates degrees or high school diplomas. My reasoning for choosing
Arcadia are quite simple. It is a respected and representable school that has an excellent Computer
Science Program, coupled with the fact that it provides a quaint study

Current Events Knowledge Essay
The purpose of this project was to determine people's general knowledge of current events. High
school students seemed like an interesting population to survey, with the goal of determining if
political issues were important to them and how much they kept up with current events. Simply
asking questions would have been too subjective, and thus an evaluation, done through a survey, of
their knowledge would serve as a better indication of how important current events are to the average
high school student. Other surveys regarding current events knowledge have been conducted,
however that information may not be relevant to this particular experiment, given that the data
sought for this study was the knowledge of current events among high schoolers...show more

After performing the test, a chi square value of 126.58 was determined. With a degrees of freedom
value of 4, this constituted a p value of 2.101644 x 10–26. With an alpha level of .01, the null
hypothesis was rejected. The study sought to determine the nature of current events knowledge for
teenagers and prove that knowledge level was limited. Samples were taken from four high schools,
but analyzed as one set of data. Through a chi squared statistical test, it was determined that
knowledge level varied at a statistically significant level between questions. If knowledge level was
independent of question, this outcome would have been highly unlikely. The number of students
who said they did not know the answer of a question was in fact dependent upon the question asked.
This suggests that teenage knowledge levels on current events issues may not be uniform, but related
to the type of question or topic area. However, the questions themselves may have been somewhat
poorly constructed and as such could have led respondents to select a certain answer choice, which
limits applicability of the study. In addition, sampling methods and sample sizes varied between high
schools, which means there may have been some underrepresentation and overrepresentation of
certain groups. As such, while the study certainly could warrant further analysis of the issue, specific
findings in this case may not be useful. Misleading questions and varied methodologies inhibit the

My Current Event Analysis Paper Essay
Race and gender have been a very recurrent topic of discussion in the news nowadays. I have chosen
a very recent news event for my current event analysis paper. The Event that I have chosen is
centered around gender and racial discrimination. This incident happened recently when a Black
doctor – Dr. Tamica Cross faced discrimination due to her gender andrace on Delta airlines flight in
mid–air . The Reading that I have used to connect to the news event are – "10 Ways racism killed
Michael Brown and Eric Garner"by Chauncey Devega, Chapel hill shooting and western media
bigotry, "More Black Men are in prison today than Enslaved in 1850"by Dick Price, "Mapping the
Margins: Intersectionality, Identity Politics, and Violence against Women of Color"by Kimberle
Crenshaw, "The Social Construction of Race''by Ian F. Haney Lopez.
 I chose this news event
because I was shocked seeing the discrimination faced by someone of a very high reputed
profession because of the color of their skin and the gender. The main idea behind my current
event analysis paper is that how gender and race discrimination overpowers and discriminates
anybody regardless of the profession. The discrimination due to Race and gender should be taken
more seriously and their should be qual respect for every Race, Gender as this is the basic to
mankind. This paper heads that event that make us realize how gender and race plays an important
role in our lives and it goes with us everywhere we go and when it is

Current Events In Germany Essay
Since the beginning of the 20th century, Germany has been in the midst of things in Europe. When
thinking about where they are now and where they came from, we as readers need to understand
what has happened since 1945 and what is happening today. I'm going to explain to you the current
events in Germany so you will have a better understanding of what is happening today.
When the far right AFD entered Germany's Parliament, fear grew as the AFD gained enough seats
to be recognized as a legitimate party. The AFD promotes itself as being a patriotic, democratic and
conservative party ("Far–right AFD enters German parliament,"2). Democracy was their goal after

by Islaminization while playing with Muslim kids at the playground. The way that the AFD is
handling the situations is similar to how the Polish people are crying for pureblood (Poles Cry for
"Pure Blood" again, 3). You can infer based on the text that the AFD group remembers how the Nazi
regime had taken over other countries trying to make one supreme race and they did not want the
same thing to happen with Islaminization. Also, you can infer that the Poles were tired of people
coming in taking over their country so they wanted to stay Polish without any outside influence.
In schools, the AFD seemed to have influences in the youth with the Anti–Semitic comments that
were made by students that made this girl named Emilia uncomfortable (Anti–Semitism in classroom
prompts a student to report classmates, 17). They made things like if your phone was on 88
percent it was the school it was a reference to HH which means Heil Hitler. Also, a kid made a
photo bearing smoke that said Jewish family photo. She decided to stand up for
herself to the kids who were saying that and they responded with things like "I should immigrate
you to Poland" and "she probably inhaled too many dead Jews" (Anti–Semitism in classroom

companies and joint ventures to close in exactly 120 days, due to the U.N. sanctions. The U.N
has also banned North Korea's cap fuel supplies and textile exports because of the six nuclear
tests this month. Their decision was to ensure the safety of the citizens of North Korea and I
believe it was the right decision. In my opinion, the continuous back and forth threats show that
both leaders do not want to go to war, but their initial goal is to gain a certain reputation. For
example, Trump stated that if "forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to
totally destroy North Korea" (Onyanga–Omara). The use of the word "totally" reminds me of a
teenager speaking to their friends, like "I'm totally going to the mall today". I'm interested to know
what the final outcome will be and hopefully, it won't lead to a World War 3. We must hope that
these threats are just for show, in order to scare North Korean citizens and American citizens.

Current Events Analysis: US Papal Visit 2015
The current event that will be analyzed in this paper is the Papal visit to the United States in
September 2015, some of the threats that were present during this event, and the security measures
surrounding it. It was the seventh visit of the Pope to the United States, and the first one since 1984.
Pope Francis, his attention to the common people, and his stances on issues has made him both a
very popular and a very controversial public figure, and the United States government has taken his
safety while on American soil very seriously.

Following the Pope's visit, President Obama took time after that busy week to make a statement to
reporters on the South Lawn, thanking the Secret Service for its hard work that week in protecting
the president, the Pope, foreign leaders at the General Assembly, and the public (Fabian, 2015).
Ultimately, the US Papal Visit was free of incident, and we may never know what threats were
averted, if any. It is still impressive to examine the amount of preparation, contingency planning, and
preventative measures were put in place for the Pope's visit and to consider that apart from having
possibly averted threats, we have the level of organization in place that these events may never even

Emotions are high right now in the United States. Americans are upset with the National Football
League over a very personal issue. Many Americans can relate to this in a personal way because they
have family members or loved ones in the military. Kneeling during the National Anthem shows
disrespect to our military, our citizens, and our nation.
One reason Americans are distressed is they have family members or loved ones who have died in
the wars for our country, and kneeling during the anthem shows disrespect to our soldiers and
veterans. The players that are kneeling are showing that they don't care about the sacrifices our
military makes on a daily basis. Furthermore, soldiers risk life and limb every single day to give
Americans the freedom we have today. TheUnited States has soldiers all over the world to help
protect our freedom. However very few Americans have the bravery to go out and fight for our
country and when players don't even have the respect to stand for our anthem it angers the citizens
of America. Another reason kneeling during the anthem is so disrespectful is because the soldiers
of our military get paid very little money for the huge sacrifices they make while NFL...show more

during the anthem, not only do they feel disrespected, but they feel their loved ones that they have

very essential subject to be addressed. Therefore, the NFL should be preventing the players kneeling,
and not just encumbrancing it. The NFL is not addressing the issue the way it should be. This has

The debate over rather or not NFL players should be allowed to kneel during the National Anthem

disrespectful for any player, in any venue to exhibit such conduct during any sporting event! It is
sheer disrespect for our flag which represents the fighting men and women who have died for this
great country. Not to mention the fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, left behind

are condemning it. That is just one prime example of how this issue and these players actions have,
and will continue to drive a wedge between the opposing sides of this issue. Personally, I love living
in the United States of America, and I believe it is the greatest country on earth, and it really
agitates me to see these spoiled professional athletes running our country down. Merle Haggard
said it best with his hit song "Fighting Side of Me", when he said "when you're running down our
country hoss your walking on the fighting side of me!" Don't get me wrong, this is the land of the
free and the home of the brave! Which means you are free to peacefully protest almost anywhere
you like, as long as you are willing to face the consequences of your decisions. I think that is what
these players are forgetting. Nobody is saying they don't have to right to protest. However, when
you choose to do so during the middle of the National Anthem there is going to be an uproar from
the hard working, blue collar, middle class residents of this country, because for the most part they

Christen See Social Psychology: The Economic Recession According to the financial definition, a
recession is a significant decline in activity spread across the economy, lasting longer than a few

The technical indicator of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth as
measured by a country's GDP. (Dictionary.com) A less official and more realistic definition of an

(Newman, Lesson 6) Currently, even the wealthiest people in our country have been keeping their
wallets tight because of the fear of losing their wealth. This fear is driven by the fact that even
people well off have lost everything. Eventually people's self awareness will create a need to focus
on their ideals and move around the fear and begin spending money again. Studies conducted by Roy
Baumeister have shown that our capacity for self–control is like a muscle; if you tire it out; you are
less able to control yourself in the future and may even react more extremely. (Newman, Lesson
6) These phenomenons have been given the terms ego depletion and rebound effect. I think this
applies to the people with jobs and the people with wealth in our country. Eventually this group of
people will begin to feel bad for all of the people struggling and their spending self control muscle
will weaken causing them to go out and begin spending money again. The rebound effect may
influence people to go out and spend money on big ticket items, such as homes and cars that will
also have a positive effect on the economy. The social perceptions surrounding the recession are
strong influences on every individual's personal economic decision making. Taking into
consideration other influences such as the media, possible psychological errors, and personal self

Stage two of the process is research proposal, in my situation the proposal was oral, during the first
stage my wife and I discussed the cost of conducting research for the program and we discussed the

customers outweighed the cost. Our instructors were included in the decision concerning the plan of
conducting research, at this point a lot of my instructors volunteered to assist. The initial proposal
like mentioned before was oral, in the proposal we explained the primary question of the research,
would a boot camp style program fit our current training schedules and thinking, the overall
answer was yes it did. The cost of the research was going to be minimal, the reason for this was
that we decided to conduct the research ourselves and not hire a firm, some of my instructors have
conducted research activities at work and we decided to use some of their expertise, this saved the
business some initial cost.
Third stage of the process is research design, we decided on using a survey, this survey would ask
a simple question, "would you be interested in participating in a boot camp style training program";
the survey would also have various health benefits that would be achieved by doing the boot camp.
We designed the survey to fit individuals in our area and age groups, our targets were the mid–teens

When the majority of people think of summer they think of it as a easy–going time of year with

they impacted the world. The first event occurred on August 17, 2017. According to New York

The last event has been ongoing since mid March 2017, but on July 21, 2017 was named the
largest and worst Cholera outbreak. According to Aljazeera News, in the Asian country of
Yemen, over 360,000 cases have been suspected and over 2,000 people are dead because of it in
this war torn country. Cholera is a disease that is spread by contaminated food or water, and
causes pain in the abdomen and severe nausea and vomiting. Sadly, according to the World Food
Program, "Over 17 million Yemenis do not know where their next meal will come from." I
believe this impacted myself because it showed me to be grateful for my health, and the privilege
i have of getting vaccinated for serious diseases. I believe the world has been impacted because it
is the largest case ever and people are starting to take more action on the spreading and prevention of
diseases in all countries. Even though these events are not directly connected in anyway, a common
theme I found between all of them is that people in these situations keeping an attitude of hope.

Bilingual Children Have a Better 'Working Memory' Than Monolingual Children
A recent study was held at the University of Granada and the University of York in Toronto, Canada.
This study showed that the working memory, the system that retains, processes, and revises
information over shorter periods of time, is better in bilingual children than monolingual students.
From mental calculations to the comprehension of a reading, working memory plays a huge part in
many activities we perform. The Journal of Experimental Child Psychology published this study.
The goal of this study was to see how the development of the working memory is influenced by
multilingualism. In addition, it explored the link between superior cognition and working memory
for bilingual people. Working memory is a part of our executive functions, the functions that are
involved with the planning and regulation of one's behavior. Despite that during the first year of life

the country's economy but also to expands its nuclear weapons), does have at its core the people's
interest as a priority, the numbers are showing that only a small amount of North Korean citizens
are benefitting. Kim Jongun, has mentioned before that he wants the world to look up to his strong
country as a nuclear power, rather than just a mere country with multiple sanctions shouting big
words. This in the past has led to various consequences from hegemonies all around the world who
feel threatened by the implications of a young tyrant in charge of ICBMs. This is a clear example
of the security dilemma in which the entire world, the anarchy that it is, has to control minor nations
that strive for hegemony at the expense of the larger nations' security and loss of leverage.
Unfortunately, it seems that despite the clear warnings from the superior nations, the North Korean
dictator has no interest in abiding by international rules and is far more fascinated with realist
ideologies of projections of power.

Personal Narrative: The Current Events Assignment
From the early beginning of the school year to the current day, my writing skills and knowledge
have improved and broadened over time. If not drastic, the change is noticeable nevertheless. For
almost an entirety of eighth grade, assignments of varying difficulty challenged me to a degree. To
be frank, some seemed as though they were beyond my comprehension and ability. However,
determination amalgamated with knowledge obtained in advance helped me to overcome my
doubts, for I exceeded my expectations; surprisingly good grades and comments are a delight,
owing to the fact of that I don't tend to think of myself as being proficient at writing. Consequently,
the assignments given to me this school year shaped me into who I am as a writer....show more

One of the aspects that especially fascinated me is that I had an extensive spectrum of choices on the
types of oppression to write about. With this advantage at hand, the assignment allowed me to
completely express my thoughts and feelings on oppression to which I can somewhat relate –
sexism. Not only does the Current Events Assignment let me voice my opinion, but I was also able
to inform and educate my audience about real–life examples of oppression – for instance, the
experiences that the author of the article about sexism in schools had gone through; her article
inspired the topic, since it vividly described how she felt when she discriminated and prejudiced in
college solely because of her gender. Moreover, Current Events Assignment gave me a chance to feel
as though I'm helping to debunk the misleading stereotypes engraved in the society's mind. Even
though it's nothing more than an assignment, by teaching the audience about women's oppression
gives me hope that the word will eventually spread, and women's equality will be closer to realization
than ever. In summary, Current Events Assignment allowed me to elaborate on my feelings about
women's oppression, hence why I enjoyed this particular assignment out of many

Anthropocene Current Events
Current Event #1: Anthropocene
Has Earth entered into a new geologic epoch, characterized by human influences? A recent study,
spear–headed by the British Geological Survey, has come to the conclusion that man's global impact
has become distinct enough to end the Holocene and effectively begin the Anthropocene. Published
in Science, the study identifies how man's impact on our oceans, resources, climate, and vegetation
has altered the sedimentary makeup of the planet. Massive species invasions, increased rates of
extinction, genetically modified plants, redistributed metals, sediment, hydrocarbons, fossils,
increased levels of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus all combine to create signals that geologists
interpret to denote a break in the Holocene

Current Events Speech Analysis

  • 1. Current Events Speech Analysis Current Events Speech Today, I am here to talk to you about something that everyone should be aware of, and something that should put Trump to shame. On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Donald Trump had sent an order to our military for the approval to send a bomb to Syria. The main question circling around the media is, "Why did we exactly bomb Syria?". The main reason on why Trump sent out the order was to scare Assad. Assad, first off, isBashar al–Assad. He is the 19th and current president of Syria. Assad first violated a "red line", that our previous president, Barack Obama had set in 2013 during the contract to end war. Assad had then signed a contract saying that he won't use chemicals to tame down Syrian rebels and instead, use different...show more content... So what if this is going on. So what, it is not happening to me. Why should I care? Let me tell you why you should care. First, what if you were in their place. After everything that is going on, with all the attacks that are happening, wouldn't you want help? Wouldn't you want aid? Wouldn't you want people to care for you? You would. If you were being constantly attacked, because you want your freedom, the freedom to say anything to do anything, you would. We are lucky enough to be in America, where we are free to express our opinions without going against the law. Imagine if that right was taken away. Your opinion just went from being what you thought, to an illegal way of expressing your thoughts. This impacts us because our country's government is being represented as as a country who takes our victories when another country is vulnerable, do you want your government to be represented like that? Do you want to be represented in a way where we win when someone is on the ground, hurt? Because I personally don't know about you, but I don't want to be represent by a government like that. If you stand with me, if you agree with what I am saying, then you will use your voice. After all, two voices are stronger than Get more content on HelpWriting.net

We met in the 6th grade at Greenfield Elementary School and became best friends. On April 13, 2017 our military, under orders from President Trump dropped the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) in Afghanistan to kill Isis fighter. While I understand the president's responsibility is to protect our country from it's enemies, it should not be done with the blatant disregard for innocent human lives. I choose to spend the next fours years in college because I feel like a 4–year school is the right place for me. Here are some reasons why I choose to spend the next 4 years in college. First of all, to receive a well–rounded education. At the undergraduate level, colleges and universities require that students take courses in an exceedingly range to assist students understand what areas of study are best for them, as well offer a broad base of academic knowledge. Second of all, to be eligible to have your dream job. As I examine job listings for entry level positions, I notice that many jobs require a bachelors degree. Finishing for a degree at a 4–year college or university will give me the academic skills I need to be prepared for the demands for my future jobs. Studies have shown that employees who have graduated from 4–year colleges and universities tend to earn more money than students with associates degrees or high school diplomas. My reasoning for choosing Arcadia are quite simple. • 3. Current Events Knowledge Essay The purpose of this project was to determine people's general knowledge of current events. High school students seemed like an interesting population to survey, with the goal of determining if political issues were important to them and how much they kept up with current events. Simply asking questions would have been too subjective, and thus an evaluation, done through a survey, of their knowledge would serve as a better indication of how important current events are to the average high school student. Other surveys regarding current events knowledge have been conducted, however that information may not be relevant to this particular experiment, given that the data sought for this study was the knowledge of current events among high schoolers...show more content... After performing the test, a chi square value of 126.58 was determined. With a degrees of freedom value of 4, this constituted a p value of 2.101644 x 10–26. With an alpha level of .01, the null hypothesis was rejected. The study sought to determine the nature of current events knowledge for teenagers and prove that knowledge level was limited. Samples were taken from four high schools, but analyzed as one set of data. Through a chi squared statistical test, it was determined that knowledge level varied at a statistically significant level between questions. If knowledge level was independent of question, this outcome would have been highly unlikely. The number of students who said they did not know the answer of a question was in fact dependent upon the question asked. This suggests that teenage knowledge levels on current events issues may not be uniform, but related to the type of question or topic area. However, the questions themselves may have been somewhat poorly constructed and as such could have led respondents to select a certain answer choice, which limits applicability of the study. In addition, sampling methods and sample sizes varied between high schools, which means there may have been some underrepresentation and overrepresentation of certain groups. As such, while the study certainly could warrant further analysis of the issue, specific findings in this case may not be useful. Misleading questions and varied methodologies inhibit the work's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Current Event Analysis Paper Essay Race and gender have been a very recurrent topic of discussion in the news nowadays. I have chosen a very recent news event for my current event analysis paper. The Event that I have chosen is centered around gender and racial discrimination. This incident happened recently when a Black doctor – Dr. Tamica Cross faced discrimination due to her gender andrace on Delta airlines flight in mid–air . The Reading that I have used to connect to the news event are – "10 Ways racism killed Michael Brown and Eric Garner"by Chauncey Devega, Chapel hill shooting and western media bigotry, "More Black Men are in prison today than Enslaved in 1850"by Dick Price, "Mapping the Margins: Intersectionality, Identity Politics, and Violence against Women of Color"by Kimberle Crenshaw, "The Social Construction of Race''by Ian F. Haney Lopez.
I chose this news event because I was shocked seeing the discrimination faced by someone of a very high reputed profession because of the color of their skin and the gender. The main idea behind my current event analysis paper is that how gender and race discrimination overpowers and discriminates anybody regardless of the profession. The discrimination due to Race and gender should be taken more seriously and their should be qual respect for every Race, Gender as this is the basic to mankind. This paper heads that event that make us realize how gender and race plays an important role in our lives and it goes with us everywhere we go and when it is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When thinking about where they are now and where they came from, we as readers need to understand what has happened since 1945 and what is happening today. I'm going to explain to you the current events in Germany so you will have a better understanding of what is happening today. When the far right AFD entered Germany's Parliament, fear grew as the AFD gained enough seats to be recognized as a legitimate party. The way that the AFD is handling the situations is similar to how the Polish people are crying for pureblood (Poles Cry for "Pure Blood" again, 3). You can infer based on the text that the AFD group remembers how the Nazi regime had taken over other countries trying to make one supreme race and they did not want the same thing to happen with Islaminization. Also, you can infer that the Poles were tired of people coming in taking over their country so they wanted to stay Polish without any outside influence. In schools, the AFD seemed to have influences in the youth with the Anti–Semitic comments that were made by students that made this girl named Emilia uncomfortable (Anti–Semitism in classroom prompts a student to report classmates, 17). They made things like if your phone was on 88 percent it was the school it was a reference to HH which means Heil Hitler. Also, a kid made a photo bearing smoke that said Jewish family photo. She decided to stand up for herself to the kids who were saying that and they responded with things like "I should immigrate you to Poland" and "she probably inhaled too many dead Jews" (Anti–Semitism in classroom prompts a student to report classmates, 17). Furthermore, within the month of September, China has ordered North Korean companies and joint ventures to close in exactly 120 days, due to the U.N. sanctions. The U.N has also banned North Korea's cap fuel supplies and textile exports because of the six nuclear tests this month. Their decision was to ensure the safety of the citizens of North Korea and I believe it was the right decision. In my opinion, the continuous back and forth threats show that both leaders do not want to go to war, but their initial goal is to gain a certain reputation. For example, Trump stated that if "forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea" (Onyanga–Omara). The use of the word "totally" reminds me of a teenager speaking to their friends, like "I'm totally going to the mall today". I'm interested to know what the final outcome will be and hopefully, it won't lead to a World War 3. We must hope that these threats are just for show, in order to scare North Korean citizens and American citizens. It was the seventh visit of the Pope to the United States, and the first one since 1984. Pope Francis, his attention to the common people, and his stances on issues has made him both a very popular and a very controversial public figure, and the United States government has taken his safety while on American soil very seriously. Ultimately, the US Papal Visit was free of incident, and we may never know what threats were averted, if any. It is still impressive to examine the amount of preparation, contingency planning, and preventative measures were put in place for the Pope's visit and to consider that apart from having possibly averted threats, we have the level of organization in place that these events may never even take off the ground due to the high level of awareness and security our nation takes as a matter of course in the current world environment and high threat of terrorist Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Current Event Analysis of Current Event Emotions are high right now in the United States. Americans are upset with the National Football League over a very personal issue. Many Americans can relate to this in a personal way because they have family members or loved ones in the military. Kneeling during the National Anthem shows disrespect to our military, our citizens, and our nation. One reason Americans are distressed is they have family members or loved ones who have died in the wars for our country, and kneeling during the anthem shows disrespect to our soldiers and veterans. The players that are kneeling are showing that they don't care about the sacrifices our military makes on a daily basis. Furthermore, soldiers risk life and limb every single day to give Americans the freedom we have today. TheUnited States has soldiers all over the world to help protect our freedom. However very few Americans have the bravery to go out and fight for our country and when players don't even have the respect to stand for our anthem it angers the citizens of America. Essay On Current Event Analysis of a Current Event The debate over rather or not NFL players should be allowed to kneel during the National Anthem has been a very heated topic in our country for the past year and a half. In my opinion it is very disrespectful for any player, in any venue to exhibit such conduct during any sporting event! It is sheer disrespect for our flag which represents the fighting men and women who have died for this great country. Not to mention the fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, left behind from those who have given their all, and perished in some foreign land! Stop and think about it! That is just one prime example of how this issue and these players actions have, and will continue to drive a wedge between the opposing sides of this issue. Personally, I love living in the United States of America, and I believe it is the greatest country on earth, and it really agitates me to see these spoiled professional athletes running our country down. Merle Haggard said it best with his hit song "Fighting Side of Me", when he said "when you're running down our country hoss your walking on the fighting side of me!" Don't get me wrong, this is the land of the free and the home of the brave! Which means you are free to peacefully protest almost anywhere you like, as long as you are willing to face the consequences of your decisions. I think that is what these players are forgetting. Nobody is saying they don't have to right to protest. However, when you choose to do so during the middle of the National Anthem there is going to be an uproar from the hard working, blue collar, middle class residents of this country, because for the most part they are the ones have fought for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Social Psychology Current Events Christen See Social Psychology: The Economic Recession According to the financial definition, a recession is a significant decline in activity spread across the economy, lasting longer than a few months. It is visible in industrial production, employment, real income, and wholesale–retail trade. The technical indicator of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth as measured by a country's GDP. (Dictionary.com) A less official and more realistic definition of an economic recession is the social perception of the state of the economy at a given time. The collective beliefs of the public, mainly businesses and consumers, drive the social perception of whether things are seen as positive or negative. Unfortunately...show more content... (Newman, Lesson 6) Currently, even the wealthiest people in our country have been keeping their wallets tight because of the fear of losing their wealth. This fear is driven by the fact that even people well off have lost everything. Eventually people's self awareness will create a need to focus on their ideals and move around the fear and begin spending money again. Studies conducted by Roy Baumeister have shown that our capacity for self–control is like a muscle; if you tire it out; you are less able to control yourself in the future and may even react more extremely. (Newman, Lesson 6) These phenomenons have been given the terms ego depletion and rebound effect. I think this applies to the people with jobs and the people with wealth in our country. Eventually this group of people will begin to feel bad for all of the people struggling and their spending self control muscle will weaken causing them to go out and begin spending money again. The rebound effect may influence people to go out and spend money on big ticket items, such as homes and cars that will also have a positive effect on the economy. The social perceptions surrounding the recession are strong influences on every individual's personal economic decision making. Taking into consideration other influences such as the media, possible psychological errors, and personal self awareness and control it is easy to see how the current mood is fairly Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In the recent years our students and friends have asked us to possibly add some sort of boot camp training, due to my military background. Here is where my business research experience was born. Stage two of the process is research proposal, in my situation the proposal was oral, during the first stage my wife and I discussed the cost of conducting research for the program and we discussed the pros and cons of the program, the decision was made that the benefits to the business and the customers outweighed the cost. Our instructors were included in the decision concerning the plan of conducting research, at this point a lot of my instructors volunteered to assist. The initial proposal like mentioned before was oral, in the proposal we explained the primary question of the research, would a boot camp style program fit our current training schedules and thinking, the overall answer was yes it did. The cost of the research was going to be minimal, the reason for this was that we decided to conduct the research ourselves and not hire a firm, some of my instructors have conducted research activities at work and we decided to use some of their expertise, this saved the business some initial cost. Third stage of the process is research design, we decided on using a survey, this survey would ask a simple question, "would you be interested in participating in a boot camp style training program"; the survey would also have various health benefits that would be achieved by doing the boot camp. We designed the survey to fit individuals in our area and age groups, our targets were the mid–teens to the middle aged in our Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay On Current Events When the majority of people think of summer they think of it as a easy–going time of year with beautiful weather, but it is not all fun and sunshine for everyone around the world, or even in our own country. Major events are happening all the time, whether they are broadcasted in the news or not. In this paper I will be talking about a few events that happened over the summer, and how they impacted the world. The first event occurred on August 17, 2017. According to New York Times, and Telegraph Co. I am thankful today that none of these people were seriously injured or ever missing, because I know that is not the case for everyone. As goes for how it impacted the world, I think that it shows us that accidents can happen at anytime to anyone, even to the most experienced of people. The last event has been ongoing since mid March 2017, but on July 21, 2017 was named the largest and worst Cholera outbreak. According to Aljazeera News, in the Asian country of Yemen, over 360,000 cases have been suspected and over 2,000 people are dead because of it in this war torn country. Cholera is a disease that is spread by contaminated food or water, and causes pain in the abdomen and severe nausea and vomiting. Sadly, according to the World Food Program, "Over 17 million Yemenis do not know where their next meal will come from." I believe this impacted myself because it showed me to be grateful for my health, and the privilege i have of getting vaccinated for serious diseases. I believe the world has been impacted because it is the largest case ever and people are starting to take more action on the spreading and prevention of diseases in all countries. Even though these events are not directly connected in anyway, a common theme I found between all of them is that people in these situations keeping an attitude of hope. In addition, it explored the link between superior cognition and working memory for bilingual people. Current Events Essay Current Events Week One On Monday night, Denver city council passed an immigration ordinance that forbids city officials from asking about anyone's immigration status or requiring anyone to discuss it. This law makes it difficult for the federal government to track and arrest immigrants. As a result, people have become fearful that these immigrants will cause harm to the public. Many people are afraid of the unknown and seeing the kind of damage immigrants have done, automatically makes them assume that every immigrant is the same. For example, the field director of ICE made a statement that "this irresponsible ordinance...deliberately obstructs our country's lawful immigration system..and undermines public safety" (Murray). In the past the U.N had implemented sanctions against North Korea for continuing their development in nuclear weapons in 2006, 2009, 2013. Yet despite this, on Monday March 14, 2016, DPRK Today reported that a fifth test would be run and a new test involving ballistic missiles would also be included. Although the young leader has stated that the Byungjin line (a program intended not only to boost the country's economy but also to expands its nuclear weapons), does have at its core the people's interest as a priority, the numbers are showing that only a small amount of North Korean citizens are benefitting. Kim Jongun, has mentioned before that he wants the world to look up to his strong country as a nuclear power, rather than just a mere country with multiple sanctions shouting big words. This in the past has led to various consequences from hegemonies all around the world who feel threatened by the implications of a young tyrant in charge of ICBMs. This is a clear example of the security dilemma in which the entire world, the anarchy that it is, has to control minor nations that strive for hegemony at the expense of the larger nations' security and loss of leverage. Unfortunately, it seems that despite the clear warnings from the superior nations, the North Korean dictator has no interest in abiding by international rules and is far more fascinated with realist ideologies of projections of power. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– [ 1 ]. http://www.newyorker.com/news/news–desk/north–koreas–bombastic–announcement [ 2 ]. • 19. Personal Narrative: The Current Events Assignment From the early beginning of the school year to the current day, my writing skills and knowledge have improved and broadened over time. If not drastic, the change is noticeable nevertheless. For almost an entirety of eighth grade, assignments of varying difficulty challenged me to a degree. To be frank, some seemed as though they were beyond my comprehension and ability. However, determination amalgamated with knowledge obtained in advance helped me to overcome my doubts, for I exceeded my expectations; surprisingly good grades and comments are a delight, owing to the fact of that I don't tend to think of myself as being proficient at writing. Consequently, the assignments given to me this school year shaped me into who I am as a writer....show more content... One of the aspects that especially fascinated me is that I had an extensive spectrum of choices on the types of oppression to write about. With this advantage at hand, the assignment allowed me to completely express my thoughts and feelings on oppression to which I can somewhat relate – sexism. Not only does the Current Events Assignment let me voice my opinion, but I was also able to inform and educate my audience about real–life examples of oppression – for instance, the experiences that the author of the article about sexism in schools had gone through; her article inspired the topic, since it vividly described how she felt when she discriminated and prejudiced in college solely because of her gender. Moreover, Current Events Assignment gave me a chance to feel as though I'm helping to debunk the misleading stereotypes engraved in the society's mind. Even though it's nothing more than an assignment, by teaching the audience about women's oppression gives me hope that the word will eventually spread, and women's equality will be closer to realization than ever. In summary, Current Events Assignment allowed me to elaborate on my feelings about women's oppression, hence why I enjoyed this particular assignment out of many Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A recent study, spear–headed by the British Geological Survey, has come to the conclusion that man's global impact has become distinct enough to end the Holocene and effectively begin the Anthropocene. Published in Science, the study identifies how man's impact on our oceans, resources, climate, and vegetation has altered the sedimentary makeup of the planet. Massive species invasions, increased rates of extinction, genetically modified plants, redistributed metals, sediment, hydrocarbons, fossils, increased levels of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus all combine to create signals that geologists interpret to denote a break in the Holocene Get more content on HelpWriting.net
