Library Essay
Libraries are an essential part of the community. However not all societies have libraries. Libraries
require centralized populations, economic development and political stability for their survival.
Libraries exist in places where peace exists. They cannot exist in places with full of conflicts.
Libraries have different missions and serve different communities differently. People and
organizations establish libraries with different missions. Historical overview shows that libraries
have always had missions.
The earliest mission of libraries was to maintain an archive for records. There is not information that
shows when the first library was established. In the past, temples, municipals and governments had
libraries. These libraries...show more content...
Therefore, Julius Caesar started building a public library, but died before he completed it. Asinius
Pollio completed the library. This established was followed by more public libraries. Other missions
of libraries that existed in the past included maintaining scholarly mission, religious mission, for
instance, monastic libraries of middles ages, educational mission, for instance university, humanistic
mission and promoting national pride (Rubin 39).
In the modern world, libraries have certain missions that they serve. The establishment of the
printing press made more books available to many people. This encouraged the establishment of
more libraries. In the United States of America, libraries came up with new missions. First, libraries
emerged with the mission of self–improvement. Advances in mechanical technology in the
eighteenth century led to industrial revolution that improved the economy and community health.
This meant that a certain class of citizens had more leisure time, for self–improvement. This favored
the emergence o f new libraries. The social library emerged with an aim of helping individuals
improve through the search of truth. Therefore, they provided literature and books that provided
information, which could help people to gain knowledge and improve their character. In the current
world, libraries provide information that people have access to, and use it for their own
improvement (Rubin 47).
Secondly, the modern world

Essay on Quinceanera
Quinceanera Throughout history, most young girls have a Quinceanera which is a special occasion
and traditional celebration of a young girl turning fifteen on her birthday and making a transition
from child to adult. Reached maturity and eligibility for marriage, which has been custom in most
countries. A Quinceanera is something that started many years ago when a Spanish conqueror
brought the tradition to Mexico and other countries. Throughout most countries, parents don't
celebrate their daughter's fifteenth birthday by having a Quinceanera; they celebrated daughter's
birthday differently from other countries. While in countries like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba,
Central, and South America are the only ones who celebrate their daughter's...show more content...
It can range from a fairytale princess, Cinderella, fairies and butterflies to precious moments in her
life. And the third step is having a waltz. In most countries they have traditional customs were the
quinceanera dances the first dance with her father. While dancing they play favorite quinceanera
songs which are De NiГ±a a Mujer (From Child to Woman) and La Ultima MuГ±eca (The Last Doll).
It's a special moment in time when the father and daughter are dancing. And the last step in having
accessories for quinceanera includes dresses, tiaras, guest book, photo albums, champagne glasses,
dolls, bibles, decorations and planning. In most countries in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central, and
South America it's a traditional and custom that their godparents and their parents pay for everything
for her quinceanera on her fifteenth birthday. After cousin Christian finished explaining to me, she
continued walking down the hall to begin to celebrate her fifteenth birthday. I told myself to never
forget the first quinceanera I attended, and what she told me. Throughout the years since, I have
attended to many quinceaneries. The one that stands out the most in my mind is my Cousin
Christian's quinceanera. The moment she told me what where steps in having a quinceanera was the
moment that I will never forget. Thanks to her, I ready know what quinceanera is and what does it
stand for. Most countries need to celebrate their daughter's fifteen birthday by having quinceanera

Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree?
It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a
motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should
not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in
the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the
particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and
the whether the obstacles are surmountable. Practical and...show more content...
Another disadvantage of being an only is that he lacks companionship. He has no brother or sister
to confide in. Growing up as an only child can be very lonely. If you have siblings you will have
to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support
and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the
younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their
parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is
that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you
to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have
companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an
only child.
Students should not take up part time jobs. Discuss.
Nowadays, students love to have part–time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to
gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before,
teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they
were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the teenagers
nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the

The Argument Of Food Waste
When we think of food waste we tend to assume that because food can decompose we are not
harming the environment. This is absolutely incorrect; there are different resources that are utilized
to make the food taste up to par and stay fresh up until being displayed on the shelves and beyond.
All the food we do not consume they have to be dumped somewhere and that will be in the landfills
we create. When there is food decomposed in landfills "[it] hastens the building of new ones, with
their environmental concerns. In short, we're burying more pockets of potential pollution, with storm
overflow and leachate leakage major concerns" (Bloom, p. 10). We are polluting our air with the
amount of food we throw away causing the landfills to no longer be an open space but a concealed
zip log bag that contains the food we no longer wanted. The amount of food waste that can be
recycled is the bare minimum to none. Have you ever drove on through an area and began to
smell rotten eggs? Well, that is all because of these landfills we enjoy creating to hold our
unwanted food. We can prevent the amount of food we waste and landfills created if the awareness
of food waste stays relevant....show more content...
Before we know it we will be covered in food that have not been consumed over the years. There
are plenty of ways to decrease our waste of food. We need to only take what we can eat and stop
overindulging; this helps les food to be thrown away and can create left overs that will give you
another meal whenever you become hungry or the next day. Think before you decide to take or
buy more than you can eat because there are people in this world who are less fortunate and cannot
predict when their next meal is. Continue to make awareness because we need to put a stop to the
food chain madness before it takes over

Argument From Analogy Essay
The argument from analogy is an inductive argument that focuses on the problem of other minds
and aims to show that we are justified in inferring the existence of other minds. British philosopher,
Bertrand Russell, describes the argument from analogy as follows: "The behaviour of other people
is in many ways analogous to our own, and we suppose that it must have analogous causes. What
people say is what we should say if we had certain thoughts, and so we infer that they probably have
these thoughts. They give us information which we can sometimes subsequently verify" (Russell,
"Analogy", p89). Norman Malcolm argues that the argument from analogy does poorly in its
attempts to show that we are justified in inferring the existence of other minds. In assessing whether
the argument from analogy succeeds in its aims, I will raise and respond to Malcolm's objection
against the argument from analogy; Austrian–born British philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's 'Beetle
in a Box' thought experiment; as well as Welsh philosopher H. H. Price's argument and English
philosopher Stuart Hampshire's argument in defence of the argument from analogy....show more

From subjective observation, Russell claims to know that A, which is a thought or feeling,
causes B, which is a bodily act (Russell, "Analogy", p110). Russell argues that believing in the
existence of other minds requires some postulate, and describes this postulate to be "If, whenever
we can observe whether A and B are present or absent, we find that every case of B has an A as a
causal antecedent, then it is probable that most B's have A's as causal antecedents, even in cases
where observation does not enable us to know whether A is present or not" (Russell, "Analogy",
