The group met with senior architects to discuss designing an electric kettle. They decided to focus on a diaphragm pump that uses check valves and a flexible diaphragm to pump fluids. There are three main types of diaphragm pumps that vary based on how the diaphragm is sealed and flexed. The group's strong point is that the pump does not require electricity to pump water. The potential weak point is the strength of the pressure. Next week, the group will discuss the circuit design.

On Thursday 1 March 2012 I went to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
(Bangkhuntien) meet senior arctitecture and worked with them. Conclusion we will wolking electirc
kettle. A diaphragm pump that uses a combination of the reciprocating action of
a rubber, thermoplastic and suitable non-return check valves to pump a fluid.
There are three main types of diaphragm pumps:
 Those in which the diaphragm is sealed with one side in the fluid to be pumped, and the other
in air or hydraulic fluid. The diaphragm is flexed, causing the volume of the pump chamber to
increase and decrease. A pair of non-return check valves prevent reverse flow of the fluid.
 Those employing volumetric positive displacement where the prime mover of the diaphragm is
electro-mechanical, working through a crank or geared motor drive. This method flexes the
diaphragm through simple mechanical action, and one side of the diaphragm is open to air.
 Those employing one or more unsealed diaphragms with the fluid to be pumped on both sides.
The diaphragm again are flexed, causing the volume to change.
