Only two Indian universities, IIT Delhi and Delhi University, placed among the top 200 universities in the world according to a recent survey. The study found that most of the top universities were from the US, UK, Germany, China, and Australia. It noted that many talented Indian students go abroad for higher education and contribute to other countries instead. Currently, only 16% of Indian companies offer internal training programs compared to 80% in China. Additionally, less than 25% of Indian graduates are considered employable. The report recommends that India must reform its higher education system to address issues like low employment, lack of research, and limited innovation in order to better meet the needs of the economy and industry.

In the top 200 universities of the world, only two educational institutes in the country, IIT Delhi
and Delhi University have managed to make the place. This information has come up in a
survey. In a joint study of industry organization Assocham and Yes Institute, it has been said that
learning from the top global practice has become necessary for the country. In this study, 49 of
the US, 30 of the UK, 11 from Germany and 8-8 in China and Australia have got place.
The study said, "Meritorious talents go to developed countries for study-research and contribute
to intellectual and economic values in other countries. According to an assessment, six lakh
Indian students are studying abroad and spending more than $ 20 billion annually in those
countries.
According to the study, only 16 percent of Indian companies offer training within the institute,
whereas in China it is 80 percent. It said that a very small part of Indian graduates is considered
to be eligible for employment. According to the National Employment Report 2013, in all the
academic sections including science-commerce, employment is less than 25 percent.
The report said that Indian Higher Education is struggling with problems like low level of
employment, lack of research and limited opportunities of innovation and entrepreneurship. To
overcome this, it is necessary to create a well-structured and future-based academic framework
with the higher education system to adapt to emerging economic realities and industry needs.
