VAB Fleet Services needed a mobile app to allow remote vehicle damage assessments between experts in Belgium and a leasing company in Luxembourg to reduce costs. They worked with ACA IT-Solutions to develop the "Click 2 Stock" iPad app using Appcelerator. The app guides users through inspections, allows experts to remotely prepare repair estimates, and delivers reports quickly. By reusing code from a previous iPhone app, Appcelerator helped reduce development time and costs for VAB.

VAB Fleet Services is part of VAB,
the biggest Flemish mobility
club. It responds to the needs
of professional fleet owners to
give a new destination to cars
which have reached the end of
their leasing term (remarketing).
VAB FS handles these matters in
a correct, efficient and uniform
manner, since they stand for
reliability, flexibility, independen-
cy, focus on service and long-

main services is the appraisal of
cars and the assessment of the
corresponding damage costs as
an independent third party.

Situation:
How to reduce coordination overhead?
When the appraisal expertise of VAB FS was sold to the biggest
leasing company in Luxembourg, the need arose to reduce the
coordination overhead to a minimum.
Since VAB FS has no appraisal experts in Luxembourg and it
would be rather expensive to send people from Belgium, they
started looking for an innovative solution to draft remote
appraisals and decrease operational overhead. This way, the
VAB FS experts are able to win time, which in turn leads to lower
service costs. Besides this first problem, VAB FS was also search-
ing for a manner to reduce their paperwork to a minimum and to
maximize the quality of their appraisals.
In the past, the ACA Mobile team had already created an iPhone
app for the VAB FS distributors on this project. Therefore, they
asked our Mobile team if we could solve these problems for
them too.
A high-quality, flexible mobile application
The solution that the ACA Mobile team came up with in
collaboration with VAB FS is an iPad or tablet application.
It allows the employees of the Luxembourgish leasing company
to perform the assessment of the damages in more detail and
the VAB FS experts in Belgium to assess the repair and repair
costs remotely.
The new Click 2 Stock application is a high-quality,
flexible mobile application that:
• guides the leasing company’s employees through remote
assessments
• ensures that the quality of the information gathering is
consistent and guaranteed
• enables VAB FS experts to prepare a claim file with the
needed repair costs from a distance
• permits VAB FS to conduct the remote appraisal service

The Mobile team used Appcelerator as a platform
for this project, which allowed them to easily reuse
building blocks from their previous project (iPhone
application) and use them for the new solution (iPad
application). Without the use of the Appcelerator
platform and the specific platform knowledge of
the ACA Mobile team, any team would have to start
from scratch. In the end, the solution did not only
meet the requirements of the customer, it also
resulted in a decrease of costs, time and resources!
