Illegal immigration is a complex issue with no clear answers. While some argue for deportation and others see no harm, the reality is that immigrants come to the U.S. for economic opportunities not available in their impoverished home countries like Mexico. Rather than reforming immigration itself, the citizenship process may need reforms such as making the guidelines and procedures clearer in order to encourage following legal channels.
1. Immigration reform is one of those topics that really has no definite answer. On the
right, people are screaming for deportation and on the left people think there is no
harm being done. However, when one looks at the issue with both eyes open, there
this is an issue with many different, uncertain solutions. Illegal immigrants that
come from Mexico are coming to the United States because, lets face it, it’s way
better than Mexico. Mexico is a poverty and crime stricken country that is no place
to go to better ones self and their family. So instead of properly going through the
process of becoming a U.S. citizen, they find it easier to just walk across our border
and start a new life. But, why do they choose to do that instead of properly going
through the procedures? Is it because they do not know how to complete the
process or is it that the process is long and troublesome? Whatever the case, the
citizenship process may need some reform, not immigration. Perhaps if the
guidelines were clearer or explained more in depth, those immigrants would follow
the proper procedures.
