1. There once was a fish named Billy. Billy led a sad life full of loneliness and
disappointment. Everyday he watched another bowl of fish as they played and
happily engaged in friendship. Day after day Billy watched as the other fish swam
along, all together and never alone. This made Billy wonder if there was any
possible way to get out of his bowl and join the others. He pondered the idea of
perhaps jumping out of the opening in the top of his bowl and landing in the top of
the other fish’s bowl. After tossing around the idea for sometime he finally decided it
could be done. However, Billy was not the strongest fish in the waters and initially
could not muster up enough strength to make the jump. Discouraged, Billy was at
his wits end. He then came up with another idea that maybe, if he practiced enough,
he could eventually make the seemingly colossal jump. So he made up his mind to
train for the jump. Days past and the only thing Billy did was jump out of the water
as high as he could each time only resting at night. Weeks past and Billy began
noticing that his strength and the height of his jumps were drastically improving.
This went on for about another week and he was eventually satisfied that he could
make the jump. So that night after his final practice session, he made sure to get the
best rest he possibly could because when he awoke, he was going to make the jump
to happiness. The night past and the morning rose. Billy awoke anxious, but
confident and ready. He swam to the bottom of his bowl and gazed at the opening
towards the top. He closed his eyes and concentrated on what was ahead of him. He
then burst forward, barreling towards the opening. He broke the surface of the
water and sprang free from his prison. He then opened his eyes in mid air and saw
he leaving his old life behind and embarking on a new and better future.
