1. 75% of all frameworks may not fit the
mouth on the day of insertion.

Even the best partial denture frameworks do not fit
perfectly in the mouth.
any discrepancy in seating of the partial denture framework will cause
the direct retainers to become active, thereby causing orthodontic movement of
the teeth
2. Framework Evaluation
A] Extraoral evaluation of the Framework
a- Check the framework on the master cast
Design drawn on the diagnostic cast was followed
Location of the components
Fit of the framework on the master cast
Amount of undercut and Soft tissue relief
Inspect the rests.
Examine the relationship between the framework and the soft tissue areas.
Check for proper adaptation and placement of clasps
3. b. Inspect the framework off the master cast:
Cheek for abraded areas of the master cast:
Partial denture component
The finishing and polishing of the framework:
Presence of defects
Finish lines
c. Radiographic evaluation
4. Check Both Dentures Together For
1. Occlusion
a) Vertical dimension of centric occluding relation and
available free way space (should be around 2-4 mm).
b) Centric relation i.e. anterio-posterior and lateral
dimension at centric occlusal
c) Free articulation and balanced occlusion
d) Equilibration of occlusal pressure.
2. Appearance of the face and teeth.
3. Phonetic tests.
4. Pleasing, comfort' and approval by the patient.
B] Intraoral evaluation of the Framework
5. 2
Occlusion
1. Direct the patient to make contact with his teeth lightly
in centric occlusion. This should coincide with the centric
relation.
2. Look for any tilting movement or rocking of either
dentures due to premature contact. If there is movement,
its cause must be isolated with the aid of articulating
paper. In most cases it is possible to remove one or two
interfering teeth or readjust teeth.
6. 4
3. If the interference is of a great magnitude, such as
Incorrect Centric, the check bite must be registered
and the lower case remounted. The teeth should then
be re-set and the dentures tried in again. Repeat these
trials until the intraoral occlusion exactly duplicated the
articulator set-up.
14. The most common areas that interfere with
seating are:
1. under rests
2. rigid portions of direct retainers (e.g. above the
survey line)
3. interproximal portions oflinguoplate major
connectors
4. interproximal minor connectors
5. shoulder areas of embrasure clasps
15. Disclosing media use for adjustment
1. Rouge and alcohol:
2. Disclosing wax:
3. Silicone impression materials or
indicating medium
4. Spray type Powders (Occlude)
5. Accufilm disclosing film:
