1. MARKET SCENARIO
 The flexo market has two segments, namely the
craft (corrugated cartons) and flexible substrates
 Ink consumption in both categories is roughly the
same
 Both categories are primarily unorganized barring
few large players, particularly those who have
invested in imported CI presses
 Water based flexo inks are used in corrugated board
applications, whereas solvent based is used in the
flexible segment

2. Growth
 With the advent of CI presses being imported into
India, we can expect growth in this sector in the
coming years
 The retail segment is yet to see accelerated growth.
However, it is expected that within 3 to 4 years,
there shall be greater demand for polybags etc.
 Moreover, consumer electronic firms are yet to get
significant market share. In addition to this they are
not yet exporting large numbers of such goods. We
expect that this segment will also grow and lead to
an increase in the corrugated carton demand of
international quality

3.  Based on discussions with leading plate
manufacturers, processing houses and
printers, we assess the market to be about
1600 to 1800 MT of inks per annum
 It is expected that this volume will have
accelerated growth by 2006-08
