Saint Richard of Chichester was born in 1197 in England to a wealthy family. He studied theology at Oxford and later became the Bishop of Chichester. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and defending the rights of the clergy. While on a crusade, Richard became sick and died at a hospital in Dover, France in 1253 at the age of 56. Miracles have been reported at his tomb, with people being cured of illnesses or brought back from the dead.
