2. Insect repellents are important tools for prevention of insect-borne
diseases as well as painful or uncomfortable insect bites. And one of
the natural insect repellent is the Oil of lemon eucalyptus, specifically
p-menthane-3, 8-diol (PMD).It is a component that contains pesticide
properties which drives away the insects from invading houses and
along with this we mix linseed oil. The linseed oil is required for its
quick drying properties and also coat forming capacity. In addition to
that NBS 30(No Bugs 30- an insect repellent additive) is added to
make it more effective and long life. Determining the effectiveness of
lemon eucalyptus oil as an insect repellent it is the main goal of study.
This study will provide significant information about lemon eucalyptus
oil as an insect repellent.

3. OBJECTIVE
 The main objective is to mix lemon eucalyptus oil in combination
with Long soya oil and to bring out the property of mosquito
repellence.
 It is mainly used for insects like mosquitoes/bugs/ticks, biting flies,
gnats.
 To reduce the composition of Volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).
 To make it more effective by addition of NBS 30(No Bugs 30) and
PMD (p-menthane-3, 8-diol) and also provides a longer life.
 Fungus development could also be reduced
 To use as a coating material over the painted surfaces to make it
insect repellent.

4.  Use of Linseed oil --- linoleum.
 Linseed oils are combined with lemon eucalyptus oil and also NBS
30(insect repellent additive) making it more effective and long life.
 Reduction in composition of VOC’S (volatile organic components).

6. LEMON EUCALYPTUS OIL
 Oil of lemon eucalyptus (trade name “Citriodiol”) is the common name of
one of the natural oils extracted from the leaves and twigs of the lemon
eucalyptus tree (Corymbia citriodora).
 Oil of lemon eucalyptus, specifically p-menthane-3, 8-diol (PMD), It is a
component that contains pesticide properties which drives away the
insects from invading houses.
 Unless other oils and chemicals, the lemon eucalyptus oil is efficient by its
property and not by its smell or anything.

7. MARKET SURVEY
The total market size of non-agro insect and pest control products is
estimated at around Rs 15 billion. Of this, flying insect (mosquito) repellent
market is placed at Rs 8.25 billion.
The other players in this sector are Balsara Hygiene with a repellant cream,
Odomos, Bayer with the brands Baygon Spray, Baygon Power Mats and
Baygon Knockout; and Tainwala Chemicals with the Casper brand of mats
and coils. While Mortein has 29% of the market, Maxo with 22% and Good
Night with 20% are not far behind.
Our product is a first to the Indian market and its one of a kind property
will make it successful paint.

8. Future Plans
 Non toxic paints are a part of the current research
going on. They are called Natural Paints.
 These are paints made from natural raw ingredients
such as water, plant oils and resins, plant dyes and
essential oils; natural minerals such as clay, chalk and
talcum; milk casein, natural latex, bees' wax, earth
and mineral dyes. Water-based natural paints give off
almost no smell. The oil-based natural paints usually
have a pleasant fragrance of citrus or essential oils.
