A beautiful teenage wasteland, where everybody loves everyone, and
nothing ever goes wrong. Where you don't need to worry about the outside
world, or any problems that exist out there.
A place to blaze, and to chill, and be happy, with the most amazing people

My Head of Service asked what maps and OSMA meant to Inverclyde.
I told him I was busy and just to Google
http://www.urbandictionary.com/
Some of you might remember these – in the era of steam!
More that rail but make sure you hold it the right way round.
Maybe take a look at some case studies sir.
Maybe this is better.
Or this.
We use maps internally.
We want to use them externally
That’s good news.
How do we build on this.
Inverclyde can offer it all … even …..fast broadband coverage
I have no Sky, no cable but speeds of up to 80gb with fibre broadband.
Whether you are cruising or taking part in water sports…
For leisure and business. Agree the maps are needed but the images add to the story.
Sailing , swimming
Or just enjoying the view.
Wait who are these guys, Spectre, Smersh, Traffic Control Officers no Royal navy divers.
200m buffer drawn around unexploded ordnance location to help identify properties at potential risk
Boundary created around designated evacuation zone and spatial filter used to extract list of gazetteer points within evacuation zone.
This produced a list of properties for evacuation.
Peel Ports, using cadcorp GIS produced this for shipping
Luckily they are here to help.
An item without a postal address, not in the PAF, what will GeoPlace say!!
Maybe a better identity for W3W.
Thanks to the Navy she was safe!
An example of an important Internal use.
Walk to school network layer digitised using combination of ITN layer and manually digitising footpaths. Links are classified as pedestrianised walkway, roadside walkway, private road, and roadside walkway not suitable. Cadcorp topological rules allow you to set a link as ‘not suitable’ so that any of the routing tools will not route along this link.
Cadcorp ‘Iso-route’ tool used to create a network that spans 1 mile out from the school gate location. This allows assessment of any possible address qualifiers, within the school catchment area, for free school transport.
Pupils addresses mapped onto GIS with point placed onto walking network at location nearest to the entrance to their property.
Cadcorp multi-point routing tool will calculate shortest route from each start point (pupil address) to each end point (school gate)
School walk network layer also being used in QGIS with Road Graph plug-in to calculate shortest route between two points for individual case measurements
Attention to detail is important, there is no TMO!
A note about the approach.
Emergency notices are easily added to the Noticeboard simply by editing the appropriate table in the Map Modeller project file.
This means you can quickly and easily pass important , time sensitive information on to the public without having to involve your web team.
Emergency notices are easily added to the Noticeboard simply by editing the appropriate table in the Map Modeller project file.
This means you can quickly and easily pass important , time sensitive information on to the public without having to involve your web team. As you can see we probably might not need this feature!!
Noticeboard is device aware and will adjust the display according to whether it is being viewed on a desktop, laptop or mobile.
Maps on every device?
Maybe that is taking it a bit too far.
Maybe next time
On a final note I would like to thank and acknowledge the support and professionalism of many people that I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with over my short time in GIS. I look forward to the open road this time next year and I will certainly be using maps OS OpenData - but probably Michelin or Google as well.
