2. PRIORITY
First things first
Studying for the exam is the first and foremost.
No compromises on that.
So collect and consolidate all the relevant study
materials.
Draw a plan of action
3. VISUALIZE
“Imagine” that you are preparing for your exams
very well and writing your exams comfortably.
“Tell yourself” often that you are going to
prepare well and write the exams very well.
This is called Auto Suggestion and Mental
Imagery.
This has to be done often. As frequently as
possible.
4. BE BOLD
Nothing to be feared but only to be understood.
அஞ்சுவது அஞ்சாமை பேமைமை அஞ்சுவது அஞ்சல் அறிவார்
தைாழில். - குறள்: 428 -
At the same time have respectful fear.
Should have only positive stress to perform well.
Must visualize success. At the same time work
hard towards achieving your goal.
5. GOAL SETTING
Don’t aim at just passing the exams. It will make
even passing very tough. Aspire to score high
marks. You will achieve minimum 60 plus to
score first class.
Plan your exam preparation and stick to your
plan.
Study in groups. Try to take seminars. Try to
teach someone. Teaching is learning. Start
absorbing important points.
6. MEMORY TECHNIQUES
One of the best memory techniques is repeated
learning. Not rote learning but revising it often.
Practise writing the answers often. Read from
your own handwriting. Since your handwriting is
familiar to you, you will better remember it.
Make acronym or abbreviations of sub headings.
Then note important points in every sub heading.
7. DRAWINGS AND FLOW CHARTS
Where ever there are drawings and flowcharts
make full use of that.
First draw the sketch or the flow chart and it will
be easy to narrate the answer from that.
8. EXAM STRATEGY
First try to answer all the questions for which
you know the answers very well.
Then answer the remaining question with what
all you can recall from your classroom lectures
or you studied in the books.
Sometimes you may have to rearrange the same
answer to a different question bordering on the
same lines.
DO NOT return a blank answer book.
9. ATTITUDE
A small amount of stress can be good so if you
feel a little anxious before an exam do not worry
about it.
It may even improve your performance.
However, too much mental or physical strain can
be detrimental to your performance so try not to
become too anxious about the exams and find
ways of coping with your anxiety.
Keep a positive attitude about the exams and stop
thinking or saying negative things to yourself.
10. STRATEGY FOR PREPARATION
As you study – don’t forget to take regular
breaks and to take care of yourself during the
exam preparation.
It is important that you are in good mental and
physical condition for the exam. As there isn’t
enough time to go over everything, you must
decide what is most important for the exam.
11. NEED FOR PHYSICAL WELL BEING
Good food and good sleep are two essential
factors for successfully writing exams
Eat healthy food but avoid heavy food
Sleep well but neither oversleep nor sleep less.
Minimum 6 to 7 hour per day, not more or not
less.
12. NEED FOR MENTAL WELL BEING
Avoid watching tv, movies, videos or songs for
some days prior to your exams. They will be
lingering in your memory and may hinder recall
of what you studied.
Avoid unnecessary chats, arguments, angry
exchanges. Always keep cool.
If possible meditate at least 5-10 min in the
mornings and evenings. You can visualize that
you are having a series of easy exams and
writing them very well.
13. MOTIVATION

graduation there will be huge demand for
engineers.
It is only a cycle of demand and supply. So
make use of the Golden Opportunity.

with your Engineering Degree.
