1. Gold Plating
Plating describes surface covering where a metal is deposited on a conductive surface. Plating
is used for many purposes, some of them are to decorate objects, corrosion inhibition, solder
ability, hardens, improves wear ability, reduce friction, improve paint adhesion, alter
conductivity, radiation shielding and for many other purposes. One of the best of plating
method if is BRIGHT GOLD PLATING. Decorative gold plating has been practiced for centuries
and still remains as an important finish in manufacturing today.
Gold Plating provides a finish which resists tarnishing and beautifies the appearance of the
object. The colour of gold plated deposit can be varied to achieve a wide range of finishes.
The object to be plated is first pre treated which helps to improve the final finish and greatly
adds to the appearance of the object. Ecoat is the final finish recommended to make the
object glitter and retain a higher shelf life.
There are different was of gold plating:
Pure Plating (Soft) - This method is often used in the semiconductor industry. The gold layer is
wire bonded and easily soldered.
Pure Gold (Soft) - Special electrolytes are what deposit the soft pure gold; this is suitable for
plating entire circuit boards.
Bright Hard Gold on Contacts – This process allows a silver coloured material look like it is
gold; it coats the surface with a layer of gold which is very effective in not only appearance
but it is also much cheaper than the real thing.
