2. Emails arranging expert interviews
The following screenshots include both our
successful attempts to gain expert interviews and
some problems we had when making arrangements
for interview dates meaning we could not arrange
interviews with certain individuals.
A lot of our communications with companies we
were hoping to interview were also done over the
phone for example an interview we managed to get
with a bartender at 'pitcher and piano'
3. Arranging interview : Biologist Amy
Reiner We decided to try and
arrange an email with Amy
Reiner because she works
at the college we thought it
would be easier to arrange
filming time with her as we
have similar timetables and
the same lunch breaks. Amy
is a biology teacher so we
knew she would know a
great deal of informative
information on how alcohol
effects the body but as she
is also a teacher she works
closely with students and
has a bond with students
meaning she may know
how it also effects them
mentally/ personally and
the pressures they face.
We managed to secure a date and time with Amy for the
interview that went ahead on the 12th October.
4. Arranging interview : Nick Waring
We messaged Nick through Tyber as we wanted him to be an expert in our documentary.
We gave him a list of questions and times we were available to film. We decided to put all
of this information in one email as previously when we tried to email other interviewees
we wasted time emailing them the questions before we had even confirmed a filming day
and ended up not being available to meet them.
We don’t have reply back from Nick as we went to see him that day also and managed film
the interview later on that day with him.
5. Arranging Interview- Mike
Duggan(Paramedic)
In the end we could not organize an interview with Mike due to scheduling issues we were never
free at the same time due to his busy work schedule and the fact that because we were using
college equipment we could only had access to it at certain times and could not book it out after
4.00 which is the only time Mike was available.
6. Unsuccessful Arrangements
Arranging Interview- The Police
Arranging Interview- Julie Maitland
After receiving the message from Julie confirming she would be willing
to do the interview we went down to her office to arrange a date however
she was not available at any point during the weeks we would be filming.
We struggled at first on how to get in contact
with the police as there was not a clear number
in which we needed to contact for press
reasons we only came across the 999
emergency number. However we eventually
found the communication email for West
Midlands police however they said they were
not willing to participate due to other more
important commitments.
7. Unsuccessful Arrangements
We did not receive responses back from certain
companies, the following screenshot shows the email
we sent out to addictionhelper. We wanted this
particular company to be a part of documentary as an
example of help in place for young binge drinkers.
However we did not here anything back from them.
