Non-Governmental Organizations came up with the idea of "Vocational Training
Programs" not only to help the distressed and poor youth but also help them to heal
the scars in their hearts.
There are number of NGOs that are in support of the vocational training for the
disabled. One of the top known group is the MBCN a charitable school for children
with special needs, abilities and smiles. The school is under The Ponty Chadha
foundation.
MBCN Vocational training workshop
Ponty Chadha was the founder of the foundation. He was a wealthy Indian
businessman with a wave group that involved very many different businesses. His life
revolved stories of converting roadblocks into strengths. With the riches he decided to
give back to the community through The Ponty Chadha foundation, which currently
addresses hunger and food security, health community, education and training and not
2. for getting rehabilitating the disadvantaged children and youth both in urban and rural
areas.
Other NGOs are Asha Bhavan Centre (Indian organisation for the persons with
disabilities, Punarbhava (Rehabilitation Centre), Samarthanam trust for the disabled
and lastly Amrit foundation.
Advantages
The groups are able to provide education to the disadvantaged ones so that in the
future the can have employment and be economically empowered.
The centers have helped to eliminate the discrimination and abuse against the
disadvantage by educating the community to understand the children have special
needs.
With the training the disabled become productive in the community by coming up
with business ideas that not necessarily need the heavy lifting hence with the little
earnings they can progress with their lives.
Disadvantages
Not all disabled are able to receive the training since some of them still shy away or
are hidden for the fear of been mocked by the community,
Some of these NGOs depend on donation therefore may end up closing living the
Disabled children confused and stranded.
The training the disabled to be productive and progressive is the best decision made
since they will not depend on others constantly and they are given a chance to prove
themselves to the community. Just like Mahatma Gandhi saying "Strength does not
come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitable will".
