2. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• Some think that Muslims do not believe in Jesus or think
negatively of Jesus.
• Jesus is considered a prophet and a messenger of God,
like others, e.g. Abraham, Moses, Noah
• Say: “We believe in God and in what was sent down to us
and what was sent down to Abraham, and Ishmael, and
Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and what was given
to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the
prophets from their Lord; we do not make a distinction
between any of them and to Him we submit.”[2:136]

3. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• We have inspired you as We had inspired Noah and the
prophets after him. And We had inspired Abraham, and
Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and
Jesus, and Job, and Jonah, and Aaron, and Solomon; and
We gave David the Psalms.[4:163]
• And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: “O children of Israel, I
am a messenger of God to you, authenticating what is
between my hands of the Torah and bringing good news
of a messenger to come after me whose name will be
‘most acclaimed.’” But when he showed them the clear
proofs, they said: “This is clearly magic”[61:6]

4. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• The Quran however strongly rejects Jesus being part of a
divinity or anything more than a human being :
• O people of the Book, do not overstep in your system,
nor say about God except the truth. Jesus, son of Mary,
was no more than a messenger of God and the
fulfillment of His word to Mary and a Spirit from Him. So
believe in God and His messengers, and do not say:
“Trinity.” Cease, for it is better for you. God is only One
god, be He glorified that He should have a son! To Him is
all that is in the heavens and the earth; and God is
enough as a Caretaker.[4:171]

5. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• Rejecters indeed are those who have said: “God is the
Messiah, son of Mary.” Say: “Who has any power
against God if He had wanted to destroy the Messiah,
son of Mary, and his mother, and all who are on the
earth!” And to God is the sovereignty of the heavens
and the earth and all that is in-between; He creates
what He pleases. God is capable of all things. [5:17]
• Rejecters indeed are those who have said: “God is the
Messiah, son of Mary.” And the Messiah said: “O
Children of Israel, serve God, my Lord and your Lord.
Whoever sets up partners with God, then God will
restrict the Paradise from him, and his destiny will be
the Fire; andthe wicked will have no supporters.”[5:72}

6. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• The Messiah, son of Mary, is no more than a
messenger; like whom messengers have passed
away; and his mother was trustworthy, they used
to eat the food. See how We clarify the signs for
them, then see how they deviate.[5:75]
• They said: “God has taken a son.” Glory be to Him!
He is the Rich. To Him is what is in the heavens
and the earth. Do you have proof for this? Or do
you say about God what you do not know? Say:
“Those who invent lies about God, they will not
be successful.”[10:68-69]

7. QURAN REJECTS JESUS
• He said: “I am a servant of God, He has given me
the Book and made me a prophet.” “And He has
made me blessed wherever I am, and He has
charged me with the contact prayer and
purification as long as I am alive.”[19:30-31]
• Jesus' message was simply a continuation of the
message of monotheism and doing good, like
prophets before him. Jesus is one the most
mentioned prophets in The Quran.
