Mission Statement
Objective To explain what is required to identify and place servants suited for specific vacancies within your ministries. To discuss ways to affirm those who are currently serving.
Vision
Investing In The Hearts of Servants “ Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”  1 Thess. 5:11 (NIV)
Understanding the                 Importance of Appreciation People deserve private and public  appreciation If you let them know the impact they are making they will want to make a greater one. Affirm not only the servant but the family Un-planned celebrations don’t happen Be Creative in celebrating the lives of those who serve alongside you.
Ways to Affirm Servants  Personally Cards Emails Gifts Phone calls Letters Significant Service Awards: ____ hrs per month Lunch
Ways to Affirm Servants Publically Testimonies 	-  on your web page 	-  high lighted on power point announcements 	-  Emails to the Pastor/Ministry Head
Ways to Affirm Servants Prayerfully 	-  Thank God for servant ministers by name! 	-  Pray for the well being of servant ministers by name!
What S.H.A.P.E. Are You In? (S.H.A.P.E. is a copyright of Rick Warren) S -  Spiritual Gifts What am I gifted to do? H – Heart What am I passionate about? A – Abilities (Natural Abilities) 		What do I naturally excel at? P – Personality 		Where does my personality best suit me to serve? E – Experiences 		What experiences have I had?
Opportunities to Serve Simple Opportunities – anytime, anything, anywhere 	-  Time requirement:  1-2 hours per week 	-  Gifts unknown and untested 	-  Skills for specific  task  	-  General passion to meet a need 	-   Seeker/new or young believer 	-  Church membership not required Examples: fold bulletins, make copies, assist with set up or break down for  an event, answer phones, stuff envelopes for mass mailings, etc.
Opportunities to Serve Stay  at Home Opportunities – Virtual & Ministry-in-a-box 	-  Time requirement:  1-2 hours per week 	-  Skills for specific task very helpful 	-  General passion to meet a need 	-  Church membership required Examples:  Type correspondence, update data bases, revise handbooks, etc.
Opportunities to Serve Seasonal Opportunities – Easter, Christmas, Annual Days 	-  Time Requirement:  Minimal 	-  No Experience Required 	-  Unsure of spiritual gifts 	-  Spiritual maturity:  Seeker 	-  Church membership not required Examples: sing, stage hands, skits, cleanup, pass out information sheets about upcoming events, serve food, clean up
Opportunities to Serve Short Term Opportunities – Project Based 	-  Time Requirement:  1-4 weeks 	-  No experience required 	-  Skills for a specific task/experience helpful 	-  Willingness to serve where needed Examples:  Cover Church Secretary for  vacations, extended appointments or  while recruiting to fill the position.
