WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR - WINNIPEG
Description
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse. This is a working supervisors
role in that there will no staff management responsibilities. On a daily basis this position will be responsible for
opening / closing the warehouse, all warehouse activity (estimated at roughly 70% picking / 30% filling)
Skills Required
High school plus 10 years of related experience OR college diploma in a related field and 6 years of related experience
The incumbent must have Lift Truck and Health and Safety training and certification and be able to communicate
effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts. The incumbent must have experience using a
Computerized Inventory System. Since this position operates a remote warehouse a high level of ethical standards, self
reliance and reliability is essential.
• Use selectors, reach trucks and fork lifts as required to fulfill orders
• Interact with store owners, drivers on a daily basis
• Manage returns
• Operate equipment as required to perform replenishment function and provide shipping and receiving duties
• Monitor safety in the workplace to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Report all workplace accidents or incidents, on the day in which they occur, to the Human Resources
Representative and the Vice President of Warehousing and Distribution
• Recommend changes in operating procedures and equipment as required to improve efficiency or enhance safety
• Perform administrative paperwork including productivity reports, load discrepancy reports, shorts tracking and
computer entry, receiving, transfers, and picking paperwork as required
• Select orders, perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies as required
• Monitor and control infestation through compliance with the infestation control program
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily at acceptable levels within the facility
• Opens or closes the warehouse facility on a daily basis
• Work towards attainment of the prescribed goals of the seven warehouse success factors of labour productivity,
auditing, inventory accuracy, write off and spoilage, load discrepancy, workplace inspections and pheromone trap
monitoring
• Ensure security of merchandise and property by adhering to all established policies, practices and procedures
• Ensure that stores needs are addressed and maintained
• Working hours are M-F 7-3:30 (flexible)
