This document discusses biomimetics and zoomorphism. It provides three learning objectives: 1) Understand principles of zoomorphism and biomimetics, 2) Be prepared to take risks when generating creative ideas, and 3) Produce creative solutions addressing design criteria in expected and unexpected ways. Examples are given of biomimetic research on pine cones, penguin insulation, and dragonfly flight inspiring helicopter design. The importance of understanding biological design and leveraging nature's innovations to develop sustainable products and world is emphasized.
