We've all been there. You work incredibly hard to develop a feature and design tests based on written requirements. You build a detailed test plan that aligns the tests with the software and the documented business needs. When you put the tests to the software, it all falls apart because the requirements were updated without informing everyone. But help is at hand. Enter business-driven development and Cucumber, a tool for running automated acceptance tests. Join Mary Thorn as she explores the nuances of Cucumber and shows you how to implement specification-by-example, behavior-driven development, and agile acceptance testing. By fostering collaboration for implementing active requirements via a common language and format, Cucumber bridges the communication gap between business stakeholders and implementation teams. If you experience developers not coding to requirements, testers not getting requirements updates, or customers who feel out of the loop and don't get what they ask for, be here!

Everyone talks about raising the bar on quality of code, but it's always hard to start implementing it when you have no clue where to start. With this talk I'm shooing that there are many levels developers can improve themselves by using the right tools. In this talk I'll go over each tool with examples how to use them against your codebase. A must attend talk for every developer that wants to scale up their quality. Most PHP developers deploy code that does what the customer requested but they don't have a clue about the quality of the product they deliver. Without this knowledge, maintenance can be a hell and very expensive. In this workshop I cover unit testing, code measuring, performance testing, debugging and profiling and give tips and tricks how to continue after this workshop.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

20. Bitwise Operators
Left shift: <<
o Multiply by 2, x times (x is the operand after <<)
o 3 << 4 == 48 (3 * 2^4 = 3 * 16)
Right shift: >>
o Divide by 2, x times (x is the operand after <<)
o 4 >> 2 == 1 (4 / 2^2 = 4 / 4)
• Negate bits: ~
Turns 0s into 1s, 1s into 0s

37. Copying Objects
• Objects are always passed by reference
• Cloning an object causes the object itself to be copied
instead of passing the reference
• Keyword clone
$c1 = new myClass();
$c2 = clone $c1;
• PHP executes the special method __clone() upon
cloning (if available)
Zend PHP5 Certification, OSIdays 2010

38. Serializing Objects
• Serializing objects and arrays with serialize()
$s = serialize(array(1, 2, 3));
// $s == 'a:3:{i:0;i:1;i:1;i:2;i:2;i:3;}‘
• De-serializing strings with unserialize()
$a = unserialize('a:3:{i:0;i:1;i:1;i:2;i:2;i:3;}');
// $a == array(1, 2, 3)
• Upon serialization, the special method __sleep() is
executed (if available)
• Upon de-serialization, the special method __wakeup() is
executed (if available)

53. Problem 1
Problem: Object access to a (relational) database
Solution: Active Record
• ORM: Object-Relational Mapping
Use objects during development
The system in the background takes care of the
communication with the database
