Dissertation and Research Interests
Dissertation: Titled “Arab-led Interventions in the Middle East: The future possibilities”.
The reason I chose this topic is that the question of why Arab states do not
intervene to stop human rights violations in the region has become a popular
one, but had largely remained unanswered.
In the dissertation an analysis of past and current interventions is conducted,
they are then judged to determine whether we want reoccurrences or not,
and patterns are drawn among them to assist in understanding the foreign
policy of the states in the region regarding humanitarian interventions. This
eased the job of measuring the possibility of future interventions carried out
by states assuming they retain their current policy makers. The research did
not tackle the legality of any of the interventions; instead, it judged them
based on the principle of consequentialism and with the assumption that
humanitarian interventions are the means to the end that is stability and
development.
Research interests: Interested in research areas including:
- International humanitarian law.
- Diplomacy.
- Case studies in foreign policy analysis.
- The Palestinian cause.
- Sources of international conflict.

2008–2008 (5 months) Translator and Research Assistant, Columbia University
Privately hired by Mr.Roozbeh Shirazi to translate and assist in the data collection for his PHD
thesis at Columbia University entitled: “Molding the knights of change: National identity,
schooling, and masculinity in two Jordanian high schools for boys” until the research was
successfully concluded.
Responsibilities:
-Conducting on field class observation and presenting the translated findings.
-Data collection through hand-outs.
-Assisting in one on one interviews with high school students which included a lot of
improvisation as well as on-spot translation between the students and the researcher.
-Observation of the schools both as entities and as buildings and making deductions that are
then presented to the researcher.

Job Role:
The Real Estate Agent will sell, rent and manage properties. He will market the properties
available and will study property listings, interview prospective clients, accompany clients to
property sites, discuss conditions of sale, and draw up contracts.
