Position: Research Scientist Level 1
Manager: Alan Henderson
Contact: Alan.Henderson@amriglobal.com
Duties: Synthesized known compounds efficiently using literature and in-house notebook
procedures. Under direct supervision by senior scientist, synthesized new compounds by
making appropriate modifications of known methods. Modified reaction conditions in order
to improve yields. Designed new or alternate reaction sequences to solve yield problems.
Purified synthesized chemicals to an appropriate degree. Submitted acceptable written
periodic reports. Prepared summaries of experimental findings reliably and independently.
Work Experience: Gained experience using various laboratory techniques involving organic
synthesis. Proficient with the full range of chromatographic, crystallization, and distillation
techniques. Analyzed and identified compounds using a good range of modern separation
and spectroscopic techniques. Including interpretation of TLC, HPLC, polarimetry, IR, and
NMR spectra of moderate complexity. Conducted literature searches for specific target
compounds, structures related to the target compound, or to determine specific conditions
for compounds and reactions. Organized work time so that several reactions are run
concurrently. Used time efficiently to produce target compounds and perform other tasks.
