The document summarizes youth unemployment trends in Australia. It reports that the youth unemployment rate (for 15-24 year olds) in Australia is 16.1%, significantly higher than the overall unemployment rate of 6%. Several states and regions have particularly high youth unemployment rates, such as Tasmania at 11.8% and Victoria at 16.1%. The document discusses factors contributing to youth unemployment like lack of experience and work-ready skills. It also outlines some programs and initiatives aimed at reducing youth unemployment through improving job readiness, skills training, and creating new job opportunities.
Generation Gap? Political and Economic Sentiment Across Three GenerationsRommell Montenegro
Millennials, born between 1980 and 2004, are now the largest and most diverse segment of the U.S. population. Not surprisingly, there has been a surge of recent research attempting to understand how this generation thinks, works and shops. One area that has received relatively little attention is differences in political and economic sentiment across the three largest generation groups.
Are Millennials more optimistic about the economy? Who cares the most about immigration policy? Which age group is the best target for messages about healthcare? As the US recovers from a recession and looks towards the next presidential election, it becomes critical to understand these market trends.

Attracting and retaining the next generation of talentJennifer Falzon
It is clear that the dynamics and demographics of the Canadian workforce are changing. Currently, more than 50 per cent of the Canadian workforce is comprised of Millennials, those roughly born between 1980 and 2000. This is a staggering and important change for all industries in Canada.
The report aims to provide organizations with new approaches and opportunities to attract, engage and most importantly, retain these workplace game-changers. With high levels of student debt and a youth unemployment rate twice the national average, the next two generations of talent have new needs, expectations and are hungry for experience.
Learn how your organization can build a desirable employer brand by connecting and investing in students, foster talent despite the risk of mobility and create a nurturing environment for the next two generations of employees. There will be a direct correlation between the success and growth of your organization and its ability to attract and engage Gen Y & Z.

Running Head: YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT IN KENYA 1
UNEMPLOYMENT IN KENYA 6
Youth Unemployment in Kenya
Kenya is one of the developing countries in Africa that experiences a high rate of unemployment particularly among the youth. Unemployment is considered as a situation where able-bodied people looking for a job are not capable of finding. Despite the attempt made by the government to make primary and secondary education free, the rate of unemployment among the youth is increasing. According to ILO, unemployment rate can be considered as the number of the people without employment within an age group divided by the age group’s labor force (Africa Check, 2018). One of the most recent survey done by the Basic Labor Force in 2015/2016 and released in 2018 reported that around 1.22 million unemployed Kenyans are between 15-34 years. According to Africa Check (2018), this number makes up to 11.4% of those who are part of the labor force. This placed the official unemployment rate to be at 11.4%. Around 20.9% of those aged between 15-34 years were visibly unemployed (Africa Check, 2018).
For the millions of unemployed young Kenyans, unemployment has made life for them brutal and harsh with each day remaining a gamble and meeting basic needs becoming a difficult challenge to handle. It is sad enough that in Kenya, education has not changed much regarding youth unemployment. Several young people in the country have either been financed or have incurred a large debt to get an education but they still find themselves unable to secure a decent job like the early generation could. Consequently, most young Kenyans often find themselves running informal businesses, work in sectors that were long neglected by the private and public sectors. It is unfortunate that young people are expected to be entrepreneurs themselves out of poverty with absolutely no support structures in place, and continues to downgrade to subsistence living (Awiti & Scott, 2016). Like in many countries, young people are told that they can be entrepreneurs and create jobs but not all people are entrepreneurs.
Kenyan government takes a big percentage of the blame because it is responsible for creating job opportunities for its citizens. Some of the reasons behind the rising cases on unemployment among the youth include:
Corruption – This has proved to be one of the reasons for unemployment and underdevelopment for most countries across the world. However, in Kenya, the vice seems to have its roots deeps in the ground. Corruption has taken over the well-being of the country with political leaders as the initiators. There is a mentality that if you do not have connections, you cannot find a job and it is slowly gaining ground as one can hardly get a job without a connection (Hope, 2012). This is mainly caused by nepotism and triba.

With the economy in recession, businesses facing closure, and students experiencing difficulties in adapting to the "new normal" in education, the number of out-of-school (more technically called, Not in Employment, Education, or Training or NEET) youth is expected to increase, adding up to the already high pre-pandemic rates.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Unemployment in Australia across all age groups, continues on the upward trend that
began in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) in 2008. The GFC affected both
males and females in the youth population resulting in long-term unemployment which
the Australian Government and local communities are still trying to overcome .

5. HOW TO OVERCOME YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
Qualifications Skills Work experience Personal connections
To overcome Youth Employment, Jonas Prising in the RSCA Journal (March 2015) suggested
that students should be advised in their latter stages of school about the importance of
becoming job ready. This will help increase their eligibility to join the workforce and help
decrease the youth unemployment rate.
With the use of updated technology and big data, youth have to be reminded to be conscious
of their social media platforms which reflect on their professionalism to join the workforce in
the short-term rather than the long-term.
The Australian Government and other organisations are structuring programs to help
young people develop skills to use in the workforce some of these programs include
Jobactive, Melbourne City Mission and National Network.
