4. Get started with:

5. How does it work?
is 2 units that communicate wirelessly: 1 metering unit and
1 base station.
Download the user program from the youbegreen.nl website
onto your computer. Place the metering unit on our
electricity meter and connect the base station to the USB-
port of your computer. That’s all!
The metering data is automatically read from your electricity
meter and sent to the base station. Using the user program,
you can monitor and manage your energy consumption.

The user program is a user-friendly, uncomplicated interface that visualizes and
manages your energy consumption.

• Actual and historical visualization of your energy consumption
• Real-time budget monitoring
• Send the metering data to your utilty company (only if you want to, no backdoors!)

8. Your energy consumption
The metering unit uses the optical interface available on modern energy meters to
obtain the actual meter reading. The collected data is automatically sent to the base
station wirelessly and securely. Your user program presents the energy consumption
(in Watt-hours or money) on your computer.

9. Budget monitoring
Enter your target energy budget into the user program, in money or watts. If the
light on your base station is green, so are you. If you’re closing in on your budget the
light will change to orange. Put in some effort and it’ll turn green again. If you don’t,
the light will turn red (you’ve exceeded your budget). Conveniently, the base station also
works stand-alone, so you can place it anywhere in your home.

10. Sending meter readings to the utility company
Filling out paper or electronic forms belongs to the past. With a single click, or
automatically (if you like), your meter readings will be sent to your utility company.

of gas and water (suitable gas/water meter required).

• Use the energy consumption information from your YouBeGreen user program to
compare the energy bill with other suppliers.

• Compare that old fridge in the garage with the newest model in the shop, and
determine whether or not it’s worth buying a new one.
