It has been used since the 1940s due to growing automobile demand and there are now over 500,000 fracking wells in the US alone. While fracking provides 60% of natural gas and billions in profits, it also uses over 600 chemicals that make fracking water extremely dangerous and more proposed wells could further impact environments.
