PLANNIG: Drew a comprehensive work plan, including first identifying the entire personnel, assigning tasks with attendant time
frame, considering plants, equipment, general logistics and drawing up a budget required to successfully execute the project.
INFORMATION COLLATION: Liaised with relevant agencies to obtain current GIS (satellite Imagery covering the area in
question. Worked with the local authorities to identify areas that must remain undisturbed due to safety and government policies.
These include identifying subterranean oil pipe lines and other utilities. Field work with land surveyors gathering topographic in
formation in a 25m grid fashion covering an area of approximately 30,000 sq.m
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: Interpolating topographic values with satellite imagery. Working based on all design information
gathered thus, with storm drain engineers to identify the natural and workable drainage layout whilst respecting gravity. Involving
the civil and structural engineers on developing drain sizing and cross sectional details.
BEME (Bills of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation): worked with the engineers on the preparation of bill of quantities and
costing to guide the client whilst discussing tenders with potential construction contractors and finally, the preparation of tender
documents.
CLIENT BRIEFING: in course of all the above, a client briefings were scheduled regularly to update the client on work progress.
Results Achieved: Successfully designed and developed an acceptable workable drainage layout satisfactory to client/ sponsor
(Mobil Producing Unlimited), Locals, Engineering standards and within the statutory design Bye-laws.
