JOP DESCRIPTION, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 Established design criteria for assigned phase of a project requiring the
application of basic engineering principles, material properties.
 Prepares detail and layout drawings and designs requiring the application
of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge, assignments regularly
include determining material needs and performing necessary calculations
using accepted formulas references & codes required for authorities
submission.
 Support field assignments and field staff as required.
 Regularly interfaces with other departments project engineers in order to
support project production.
 Follow-up and review all the shop drawings and work shop drawings
submitted by the main Contractor for the approval.
 Checks work assigned to lower-level design/drafting personnel.
 Performs other related tasks in support of project engineer, such as
writing procedures and specifications, compiling and computing
engineering data, estimating, etc.
 May provide help with certain administrative tasks, such as determining
manpower requirements, establishing drawing schedules, assigning tasks
to lower-level design/drafting personnel, etc.
 Structural’s designers are in charge of performing structure designs for
their organization ,they are responsible for drafting computer models
based on project needs and creating drawings that are used for final
construction plans.
 Also review construction models and revise them as needed based on
engineers' recommendations, additionally these designers must follow
strict safety standards on their preliminary sketches, adequately take
construction materials into account for designs, and meet deadlines.
 Create specific reports detailing changes that need to be made to
structure sketches.
 Prepare structural plans and coordinate the work with architectural,
electrical, and mechanical designers, additionally, structural designers
participate in review meetings and suggest changes to existing designs.
