The timings for your Graphics
exam will follow a ‘normal’
school day. So:
Arrive at School 8.20 (you will
be allocated your room).
Session 1 = 8.30 – 10.55
Break @ 10.55
Session 2 = 11.20 – 12.50
Lunch@ 12.50
Session 3
1.40 until 3.20
Please note that these times
will be confirmed y Miss
Emin on the day and maybe
slightly adjusted.
1. Please make sure that you be respectful and mindful of
others. The mock exam is conducted in silence, just as
your other exams are.
2. Levels and outcomes achieved are used to determine
date for results and reports. So they are important!
3. Make sure that you bring snacks and lunch
4. School uniform MUST be worn is this is an exam, just
like your other internal mocks.
5. We do allow the use of music with headphones, as a
one-off, due to the length of the exam and we have felt
for many years it has aided your level of ‘concentration’
for this amount of time. This is a privilege, please be
sensible.
• Please make sure that you have
your ART PACKS with you. There
will be a basic supply of materials,
but it is much better to have your
own.
• You may bring a pair of scissors as
the exam consists of a LOT of
cutting.
• Please make sure that you have
your glue sticks.
• You will all be given your beige
folders with your original tracing
and colours requested.
Part of the task involves doing a
‘Process Board – Do NOT throw
anything away!!!
You are a Graphic Designer working for Visit
London OR St Albans City council. Both
companies are looking to encourage people
back into the city in 2021, when it is safe to do
so, in a bid to ‘keep safe’, but get much needed
tourism going again, and welcome people back.
This task involves you creating an A3 image (in
the exam) which will be used to form various
merchandise as the project moves forward.
Further work generated form your image will
be completed in class time
Using the image that you have provided, and
the colour sheets you have requested, create a
colourful image, that is both eye catching and
colourful.
Choose ONE of your
colours as your BASE
colour and then cut out
sections to ‘collage’ on
top. When we are
marking your pieces, we
will be considering:
1. Colour selection
2. Skill
3. Refinement
4. Detail.
• This is Samir’s who is
now in Year 12
The second part to the exam, is to complete a
‘Process Board’. Only do this if you have
finished your image, as this can be completed
in class time.
1. Title. There will be some pre printed titles.
2. A5/A4 colour copy of your original Artwork –
Ask Mrs Lewis to copy it for you.
3. Original Photograph – Again, if you have stuck
onto a previous board, we can copy it.
4. Tracing work
5. Colour samples
6. Links to other Artists
7. Notes on how you completed your work, how
Links to the project, other Artists and HOW yo
might use this work.
