XdbE aims to connect disparate social networking services by providing a unified user database. It would allow user data to be propagated across services in real-time, providing a complete universal social graph. Currently, individual services like Facebook and Twitter are only loosely connected. XdbE's centralized database would contain non-private user profile data and connections between user accounts on different services, addressing inefficiencies of alternatives like Google Open Social API that rely on direct requests between services. This would let users stay connected to all of their social networks and see updates from friends on any service.

Personalized Web Service Selection
Web services have shown the potential to have a significant impact on the business, however, also shown
problems like automatic service discovery or service interoperability issue. Because of today’s wide
variety of services offered to perform a specific task, it is essential that users are guided in the eventual
selection of appropriate services. In this paper we present an extensive study of different selection
techniques towards advanced personalization of Web service selection. We propose the customization of
the user profile to support different steps of interaction with services and propose techniques to
personalize each subsequent step. Our main contribution is an algorithm featuring the expansion of
service requests by user-defined demands and wishes. Services not matching a user specification are
discarded on the fly and equally useful results of alternative services can be compared with respect to
user provided preferences. We also present a case study to evaluate our personalization techniques.

Tagging: Can User-Generated Content Improve Our Services?
A couple of years ago there was a lot of discussion about how to improve search engines on the statistical websites. We are still struggling to make them better. On the other hand, in the last few years user-generated content on the internet, with impressive growth of Web 2.0 tools and services, introduced not only user-generated content, but also user-defined classification of items. The so called "folksonomy" introduced a new, complementary way of classifying items, significantly different from the pre-defined, authoritative taxonomies. Folksonomy is a result of tagging. In applications like YouTube (video clip database), Flickr (picture database), SlideShare (presentation database), blogs and others, users attach one or more words (tags) to every object in the database. Tags support search and aggregation lists.
It takes just one step to move from entering search keywords ourselves, using all of our knowledge, experiences and intuition in order to tailor the search results to user needs, to allowing our own users to enter tags themselves. This step creates a paradigm shift, exactly the same one as has turned Web 2.0 applications into a big success: Users – not producers – control the way they find and use information. By allowing users to enter tags we can actually allow users to help themselves by helping us.

This step creates a paradigm shift, exactly the same one as has turned Web 2.0 applications into a big success: Users – not producers – control the way they find and use information. Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
