Transparent concrete is a concrete based building material with light-Tran missive properties due to embedded light optical elements usually Optical fibres. Light is conducted through the stone from one end to the other. Therefore the fibres have to go through the whole object. Transparent concrete is also known as the translucent concrete and light transmitting concrete because of its properties. It is used in fine architecture as a facade material and for cladding of interior walls. In this paper, to integrate the merits of concrete and optical fibre, for developing transparent concrete by arranging the high numerical aperture Plastic Optical Fibres (POF) or big diameter glass optical fibre into concrete. The main purpose is to use sunlight as a light source to reduce the power consumption of illumination and to use the optical fiber to sense the stress of structures and also use this concrete as an architectural purpose for good aesthetical view of the building.
Light moves in a straight line and very fast. White light from the sun is a mixture of colors that makes up the visible spectrum, including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. When light hits an object that it cannot pass through, it forms a shadow on the opposite side from the light source. Objects can be transparent and allow light to pass through, translucent where light is diffused, or opaque where no light passes through. Natural luminous bodies like the sun produce their own light, while artificial luminous bodies require an external power source to produce light. Heat transfers from warmer to cooler bodies through conduction.
This document contains configuration settings for Expose, a flash gallery component for Joomla. It describes over 80 parameters that can be configured, including settings for the main gallery layout, navigation buttons, image strip, slideshow, album list, fonts, and more. Parameters include types like integer, string, color, and options to configure properties such as widths, heights, positions, colors, fonts of various interface elements.

installation of veneered panels in new constructions upon remote locations is often a pain in the neck: bubbles, scratches, non consistent gloss levels, lacquer defects. Classic defects that make all the hard work of grading and selecting nice veneer useless.
Shinnoki comes in mixed matched veneer gradings, mildly stained, mildly UV blocked, matt lacquered and covered with a protective transparant foil. This allows the builder to process real wood panels as if they were melamine. Also when reordering, consistent panels in color, pattern and lacquer finish are avaible. Even more, the same is available in Parky for flooring.
Litracon is a light-transmitting concrete invented by architect Aron Losonczy in 2001. It is produced by casting thousands of optical fibers directly into concrete mixtures. When light enters one end of the embedded fibers, it is transmitted through the concrete by total internal reflection in the fibers. Litracon has advantages like reduced lighting costs and illuminated structures, though it is more expensive than traditional concrete. Potential applications include translucent walls, ceilings, sidewalks, and other structures.
13 construction material from the futureMasoud Fayeq
The document summarizes 13 emerging construction materials, including translucent concrete that uses glass fibers to allow light transmission, sensiTiles with embedded fiber optics that twinkle as people walk on them, and electrified wood that incorporates wiring to power devices. It also discusses flexible honeycomb structures, paper-based countertops, self-repairing cement with microcapsules that seal cracks, strong yet lightweight carbon fiber, and bendable concrete reinforced with fibers.
The document describes tree anatomy and the process of turning trees into lumber. It discusses the different layers that make up a tree, from the outer bark to the inner heartwood. It explains how trees grow in annual growth rings and how lumber is cut from logs. The document also covers lumber grading, defects, seasoning, shrinkage, and common wood products like glulam beams.
The document provides an overview of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and its applications for wood science and technology. It discusses the history and principles of NIR spectroscopy. Specific topics covered include the electromagnetic spectrum, molecular vibrations, instrumentation, sample presentation, calibration and validation strategies, and applications for measuring various wood characteristics. The document serves to introduce NIR technology and its use for analyzing wood.

Wave Of Wood
