What is Religion?
• Religion is difficult to define, because human
belief structures are varied and complicated.
• Religion is the set of beliefs, feelings, dogmas
and practices that define the relations
between human being and sacred or divinity.
Types Of Religion
Monotheistic religions- believe in one God.
Polytheistic Religion- believe in many gods.
Animistic or traditional religions- often believe
that different aspects of nature have divine
powers

There are some 4,300 religions of the world.

• Islam (1.3 billion)
• Nonreligious (Secular/Agnostic/Atheist) (1.1 billion)

• Primal-indigenous (300 million)
• African traditional and Diasporic (100 million)

in a day, giving money to charity, fasting and pilgrimage
to Mecca.
