One of the IT directors approached Gail with the idea of getting a group of IT interns to work together on a collaborative project. Several ideas were presented and the interns decided on Workplace of Choice, which coincides with an initiative in the IT strategic business framework.
So, why did we choose workplace of choice? About the time we were presented with the idea of a collaboration project, Yahoo Finance released a report listing the worst companies to work for. Number one on that list was Express Scripts. A large factor was ESI’s ratings on Glassdoor, which you see on the left. We decided to provide ESI recommendations on how to improve its image towards young professionals, thus attracting the best new talent. ESI needs new ideas and fresh minds in order to innovate, and that comes from our generation. The purpose of this presentation is to examine aspects that recent graduates consider when looking for a job, especially making ESI a workplace of choice.
After doing research and collecting our own opinions, we narrowed down our suggestions into 3 categories: employee engagement, room to grow, and work-life balance.
Should we have summary on each begging topic? JH

PTO growth – If an employee works long hours to meet company objectives and deadlines, dole out one or two extra vacation days to reward that employees commitment.
