WordPress Ping List 2016 – Fast automated indexing at your
fingertips
WordPress has a built in ping service that allows you to add this WordPress ping list, and have all
your blog posts sent to search engines and blog directories automatically. Handy hey? Well, let me
show you how to do it.
WHAT IT MEANS TO PING
To ping a blog post simply means to send a signal to search engines and different blog directories,
notifying them that your blog content has been updated. Once the ping has been sent out, the
search engines and blog directories will start to crawl the new content on your blog, and index
them.
In the old days, we used to wait patiently for search engine bots to crawl our blogs and pick up new
changes. This took several days to several weeks. Now, thanks to pinging services, we can speed up
this process by manually (or automatically in this case) send updates so our pages gets crawled and
indexed faster.
AUTOMATED INDEXING?
By “automated indexing”, I literally mean that the indexing process of your blog will be automated.
You see, later in this post, I’ll share with you a WordPress ping list that you can paste into your
WordPress website (I’ll show you how). After pasting this WordPress ping list into your WordPress
website, your blog will AUTOMATICALLY ping these services every time you make a new post.
This means you DO NOT have to manually ping your new blog posts, and you do not have to wait
weeks for search engines to crawl your site.

WORDPRESS AUTO PINGING FEATURE
Before I share the actual WordPress ping list with you, I’d like to show you how to use this great
feature of WordPress.
The first step is to log into your WordPress website’s admin area. By default, you can go to your
domain or the installation folder of your WordPress website, and simply add /wp-admin at the end.
For example, if your domain is example.com, then you can access your admin area
at example.com/wp-admin – this might not be the case if you used a security plugin to change this
URL.
Next up you need to go to Settings > Writing. This is where you’ll be able to paste the WordPress
ping list I’ll provide to you at the end of this post.

This will present you with a screen like the one below. Scroll to the bottom to find the ping list.
Note: The WordPress ping list is known as “Update Services” in the WordPress settings page.
Now all you have to do is copy the list I’ll provide to you below and paste the whole list underneath
the first entry, which is by default http://rpc.pingomatic.com. Once you’ve pasted the list, simply click
“Save Changes” and you’re all set to send out pings automatically every time you make a new blog
post.
