vocabulary and by understanding the different word formation processes helps us to
understand the creation of the English vocabulary. By studying individual words and
finding out their actual origin we can achieve a more complete understanding of them.
Since we now know three more ways of increasing our lexical knowledge. These three
ways are affixation, blending and compounding, specifically about multi-word verbs are
the key of the improvement. These ways of word formation allow us to increase our
vocabulary on a large scale which will expand our understanding of texts in different
topics.
This task is related to the class objective or to the objectives of the mayor in a deep
way, because the topic of word formation is clearly stated in the syllabus of the course and
also represents a vital topic in the development of us as English students and future
teachers. On the other hand, the improvement of our skills such as: writing, speaking,
listening and reading that will benefit, in a final term, to our future homework, for instance,
essays, thesis, reflection papers, reviews, etc., moreover to our future students and so we
