Music technology refers to the use of devices and tools to compose, perform, record, and analyze music. This includes electronic music made using electrical devices to produce and alter sounds, as well as computer music created or assisted by computers. Popular music technologies include MIDI interfaces to synchronize equipment; synthesizers to generate and modify sounds; samplers to record and playback audio; sequencers to record and playback multiple musical tracks; and notation software to write sheet music on computers. These technologies allow musicians to more easily create, edit, and share digital music.
MIDI (/ˈmɪdi/; an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a technical standard that describes a communications protocol, digital interface, and electrical connectors that connect a wide variety of electronic musical instruments, computers, and related audio devices for playing, editing, and recording music.[1] The specification originates in a paper titled Universal Synthesizer Interface, published by Dave Smith and Chet Wood, then of Sequential Circuits, at the October 1981 Audio Engineering Society conference in New York City.[2]

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
2. Music Technology
Music technology is the use of any device,
mechanism, machine or tool by a musician
or composer to make, perform, compose,
playback, record songs or music scores to
analyze or to edit music.
3. Computer Music
Computer music is the application of
computing technology in music
composition, to help people to create new
music or to have computers independently
to create music.
4. Electronic Music
Electronic music is any music that uses
electrical devices or instruments to produce
and alter the sounds used in music.
6. • Composer often use notation software to
create a score for musicians
• Players may use electronic effects or
samples
• Listeners have many options for
consuming music, including personal MP3
players and online streaming services

7. MIDI
Musical Instrument Digital Interface
Midi is a standard way of connecting one
keyboard, with another or several together.
This means by miding up a digital piano for a
digital synthesizer.
Eg. a performer needs only to play the piano
and both instruments will sound together in
perfect synchronization.
Midi equipment is connected by midi cable.
The advantages of midi, is that it allows
equipment to be linked with computers,
8. Synthesizers
Synthesizers come in different forms. Some
have keyboards some don’t.
The synthesizers with the keyboard are
usually controlled by a keyboard (piano
keyboard with buttons and slides to create
different effects.
The most common synthesizers today are
software synthesizers which are software
based.
9. Software synthesizers started to become
popular in the late 90’s. It has computer
programmes often linked to a Sequencer.
They often have graphical slides and knobs
that you can move with a mouse.
It can generate, modify and control sound.
They can generate a huge variety of musical
sounds and noises, and the composer has
complete control over pitch, tone colour,
loudness and direction.
10. Sequencer
A Sequencer is a device or application software that can
record, edit or play back music, by performance
information in several forms.
Modern sequencers are usually computer programs.
Every note, instrument sound, key signature, tempo and
any other musical direction is given by a computer code.
This means that different types of computers and
recording equipment can connect to each other. Many
tracks of music can be played back at the same time.
11. Notation Software
A notation software is software used for
creating sheet music, It allows quick
correction, (audio) flexible editing easy
sharing (via the internet or compact storage
media) and clean, uniform layout.
12. Sampler
One type of digital keyboard, which can
take a sound fed into it through a
microphone and reproduce it instantly over
the full range of the keyboard.
This makes it possible for a keyboard player
to play any instrument of the Orchestra.
13. Samplers are similar in some respects to a
synthesizer, but instead of generating sounds, it uses
recordings of sound that are loaded into it by the
user. They don’t create the sound themselves. They
just play the music back . They can record, change
and playback bits of sound.
Samplers can be added to a piece by over dubbing
(adding tracks over top of other tracks). You can
record a drum track, then over it a guitar part, then
the vocal part etc.
14. DJ
Disc Jockey is a person, who mixes recorded music
as it is played.
Now the word DJ isused to describe someone who
mixes recorded music from any source, usually
cassettes, CDs or Digital audio files on a CD or
laptop.
15. DJ’s use equipment that can play at least two
sources of recorded music simultaneously and
mix them together.
This allows the DJ to create seamless
transition between recordings, developing
unique mixes of song.
At a live performance in a club, the DJ
sometimes adds extra sounds to the music
and a set to decks to play their music.
