Definition:
• Transformative Education is an approach that goes
beyond the traditional transmission of knowledge and
focuses on fostering personal and societal change
through critical reflection. It involves a deep examination
of one's assumptions, beliefs, and perspectives,
challenging them in order to bring about a profound shift
in understanding and behavior (Mezirow, 1991).
Key influencers :
• Paulo Freire, emphasized
education as a tool for
liberation and empowerment,
advocating for dialogue and
critical reflection (Freire, 1970).
