NeuroEducation: Science of the Learning BrainTracy King
As educators we are in the business of chaining brains. But does our course design take into consideration how the brain learns? the emerging field of NeuroEducation addresses the intersection of mind, brain and education. In this session, we will tour the learning brain (AAAA model) and debunk long held NeuroMyths. The corresponding handout and other resources can be found on my website at http://www.inspired-ed.com/#!models-and-tools/c1285
This presentation provides an introduction to the Habits of Mind with activities to support participants as they process the Habits. Also includes teacher-created posters which are great examples.

Design’s primary function is to make something useful. Unfortunately, most products are not accessible to everyone. For adults and children with non-typical cognition and learning styles, technology can help even the playing field, combats negative stereotypes, and take into account their deficits and capitalize on their cognitive strengths.
We will look at design solutions targeting specific conditions like ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism -- and the core problems technology is trying to solve. We'll then widen the lens to compare how many of our most commonly used devices and apps use the same tactics to achieve universal accessibility for all.
Problem-Based learning and decision-making skills. 1-unit course taught by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University. http://edweb.sdsu.edu/courses/edtec700/DM/
Congratulations, your students are now ready to develop plans for their chosen career and implement them!
From the previous session, they were able to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and analyzed opportunities and threats that run with them. They also learned that SWOT is not only an effective tool for business but is also beneficial for job seekers and students like them who aim to climb the career and success ladder.
In this module, they will learn the step by step procedure in making plans depending on their timeframe. This will assure them of a more structured and reliable implementation of plans that will lead to achieving goals. Finally, this session will enable them to focus their talents, skills, and values to the career and life plans that they dream of.
So, let us now take off and begin their future today!
