Why SIP Makes Sense: Enabling the Evolution to Unified CommunicationsXO Communications
The growing proliferation of Unified Communications (UC) technology in the workplace is enabling anytime, anywhere communications. Driving UC adoption is the growth of IP telephony, which has overtaken TDM systems. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a key enabler of UC as it allows users to access content from any device on any network. SIP offers advantages like intelligence at network edges, support for mobility and virtual numbers, and business continuity during outages. As IP telephony continues to replace TDM, SIP will become increasingly important for businesses to support UC.

This presentation brings together quantitative visitor data, qualitative visitor feedback, debriefs from key organizational areas (e.g. conferences, demos, special events, logistics, communications, etc) from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Forum 2009.
From a philosophical point of view, everybody loves open source software: you, your wife or girl friend, your father, your mother, grand-father or grand-mother, your children, your boss, your employees, your custormers, your students, your teachers, your cat even your fish, everybody.
Once the first enthusiasm gone (it takes arount 10 minutes for persons and 3 sec. for the fish), a simple question arises : ok, open source is not gratis, however, a consequence of the open redistribution is gratuity, so how are you making a living with open source software ? Is it viable in the long term ?
The conference will present the mechanisms (the "business models") around open source software and especially those for software editors.

Building the right support system for intrapreneurseTailing India
Building an effective support system for intrapreneurs within an organization is important for driving meaningful change. This requires overcoming the inherent resistance to change that most organizations have. Intrapreneurs must understand organizational dynamics and gain approval from key decision-makers like upper management. It is also important for intrapreneurs to understand customer needs and demonstrate how their ideas will be financially and strategically feasible, such as through a net present value analysis. Companies can encourage intrapreneurship by sharing equity, giving employees approval to pursue new ideas, recognizing successes, and providing financial rewards. Creating the right environment empowers intrapreneurs and engages creative employees in shaping the company's future.

4 steps for intrapreneurs to succeed in a corporate worldeTailing India
Begin by idea and research assumptions: It is, without a doubt, more difficult to prove the existence of a market than it is to start developing a product. That reality makes proving assumptions before development even more vital. Like scientists, begin with a strong hypothesis and then test it with different groups of people to try and disprove the theory. In doing so, startupsand intrapreneurs can validate, alter or refute the perceived pain point, and help determine market size and revenue potential.
The rapidly shifting technology environment raises serious questions on how to help their companies capitalize on the transformation under way. Advancing technologies and their swift adoption are upending traditional business models. So, today we bring you Five Hottest Tech-Enabled Business Trends in 2017.

It aimed to introduce common global processes and systems to help coordinate efforts across regions and speed up operations. The HR role was crucial for change management to help employees adapt to the new system and ensure business adoption and ultimate benefit realization from the ERP implementation.
The document discusses using open innovation and open technology search tools to identify solutions from external sources that can help companies out-innovate their competition. It emphasizes searching globally for unexpected solutions and partnerships from sources outside typical networks, including small companies, universities, research labs, and individuals. The goal is to gain access to external assets, competencies, and ideas that can help large organizations innovate and address changing customer needs in new ways.

Lieven Vermaele - SDNsquare - Flanders Belgium - Stanford Engineering - Mar ...Burton Lee
This document summarizes a presentation by Lieven Vermaele, CEO of SDNsquare, about the company's products and technology. SDNsquare has developed two products, WARP and GRID, that use software-defined networking (SDN) to provide guaranteed performance and predictable networking in data centers and storage networks. Both products use standard hardware but intelligent software to monitor traffic flows, select paths, and guarantee quality of service (QoS). This overcomes limitations of traditional overprovisioning and proprietary solutions. SDNsquare's technology goes beyond basic SDN by providing end-to-end QoS guarantees. The company focuses on mission critical industries and aims to license its technology and products to customers.
The panel discussion focused on India emerging as an IP powerhouse. It introduced panelists from three companies - Cosmic Circuits, Softjin, and Ittiam. Cosmic Circuits presented on their analog IP portfolio. Softjin discussed their focus on FPGA-based design services and IP products. Ittiam outlined their multimedia and communications IP and opportunities in licensing specialized IP components. Key opportunities discussed were India's talent base and the benefits of an IP licensing model. Challenges included long ROI cycles and changing market factors.
The Path to Open, Interoperable Optical NetworkingLeah Wilkinson
OFC 2019 Session:
The goal of SDN is to enable flexible, automated and programmable networks that reduce Opex and accelerate service delivery. Realizing open, interoperable multi-vendor optical networking is one key to achieving this goal. A panel of industry experts will discuss the drivers, needs, and challenges in the evolution to widescale adoption of open, interoperable optical networks:
- Definition and specific requirements
- Risks, trade-offs and benefits
- Disaggregation, open line systems, and APIs
- Use cases, interop testing, trials and deployment scenarios
- Implementation agreements, interoperability demonstrations and certification testing

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
