Author’s typically try to create a protagonist with whom readers will
sympathize. Kit is a complicated protagonist. Most of you
probably sympathize with her in some ways, but not in others.
Explain, using specific details from the text, what about her is
worthy of sympathy and what is not. Then, discuss why the author
may have chosen to create such a complicated main character.
