Dave and Brian presented BizStream's first ever Kentico Cloud project on the implementation of www.casestream.net. In the first half of the presentation Dave illustrated how Kentico Cloud allows for a content first approach to website development. After that Brian gave his impressions on what it means for .Net developers to leverage Kentico Cloud, Azure App services, and an API First approach to building www.casestream.net.

These slides are from a presentation at 360Flex DC on 21 September 2010. Most application development follows a pattern where the designers design it then the developers build it. Any change in the design requires more work from the developers, who have to implement each change request. It doesn’t have to be this way. By modifying the application architecture, we can enable the developer to do their work before the designer, leaving the designer free to alter the design as frequently as they wish without recourse to developer time. This frees designers to respond to client requests in a timely manner and frees developers to work on a more strategic level, adding functionality to the tools the designers use without being bogged down in day-to-day client projects. In this session I’ll describe this new architecture, how and why I developed it, the benefits and pitfalls of its use, and how to implement it using any of the current dependency injection frameworks.

Come learn what exactly the MVVM pattern is, and when to use it. We will go through the pros and cons of several architectural patterns, such as MVC and MVP, and compare them to MVVM. I was working on a deadline to implement types for our OpenAPI client, and I would have missed our release window. I needed something different and easier to build. Luckily, a friend recommended me a library I didn't know: code-block-writer. I fall in love with it at first sight.

How much of our code is being covered by our unit tests? Are there areas we are not testing? By capturing code coverage data during a test run, we can analyze which areas of our applications are well-tested and which ones require additional tests to be written. And where better to capture code coverage information than on our build server? In this webinar we will use dotCover to collect code coverage information while running tests in our CI process. We will see how we can configure code coverage and how we can use the TeamCity Visual Studio plugin to download the coverage snapshot generated on the build server and inspect it using dotCover on a developer machine.

This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second). Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management. The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM). This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
