1. Monday evening had been spent at Angelo’s place. They had gathered at Angelo’s place to come up with
a solution for one of the biggest problems that they had faced in recent times. It had definitely been a
threat to William and the Blood Brothers.
By now it seemed like it was worse than ever. William who would never accept defeat had wanted to
call a meeting. Well, that had been the reason for them to gather at Angelo’s
So far there had been a lot of suggestions about how to solve the problem.
Trevin had wanted to kidnap Mr. Fernando, the cause of their problem. The problem of course was that
Mr. Fernando happened to live next door to William’s.
The Blood Brothers had invented a game called “Pads’’ and just as the game had become interesting,
the Blood Brothers had to bring an end to the game. It hadn’t been done willingly, when they played this
game, the ball would go over to Mr. Fernando’s house. The moment it went to his house he would
disappear inside the house taking the ball with him, in his possession he had six leather balls. The Blood
Brothers were planning to get those balls back. So far, they hadn’t any idea; well, they didn’t have any
ideas until Angelo’s elder brother who had overheard their conversation had decided to join them in
Angelo’s room. He had come inside the room and asked them to tell him the entire story.
He had told them that dogs were afraid of sticks and if the ball went over, for them to jump over the
well and get the ball back. William had told them the same plan earlier.
Now that Angelo’s brother had told them the same thing. William really wanted to see if it would work.
And that’s what the Blood Brothers did. They had cricket practice on the following day. After practice
they went to William’s house. They started playing the game called ‘’pads’’ where they would try to hit
each other on the legs with the ball.
The Blood Brother’s had one thing in their favor, old Mr. Fernando hadn’t come into the garden. He had
remained indoors.
The plan that Angelo’s brother had come up with seemed to have worked. They had climbed over the
wall, almost like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, they had clambered over the wall. William had got
down into Mr. Fernando’s garden carrying a bat with him, the bat was for his safety. The plan had
worked so far, the two dogs would retire to their cages the moment they saw William enter, carrying the
bat with him.
Well, plans had gone well for some time, plans had definitely gone well until Mr. Fernando had brought
another dog. Now there were three dogs in Mr. Fernando’s garden. William didn’t know about this. Just
like any other day he had climbed over the wall to take the ball from Mr. Fernando’s garden.
That day was definitely not a good one for William. That particular moment definitely made brave little
William afraid.
William had been taken by surprise. The moment he had landed, he had been attacked by all three dogs.
He had tried to hit them whilst trying to clamber back over the wall.
William had survived but Mr. Fernando’s dogs had started barking. Mr. Fernando had come out side to
see, five boys sitting on his wall trying to beat his dogs with cricket stumps and bats, the sight was
something that old Mr. Fernando would not bear, he had come rushing towards William’s house.

2. He was wearing a sarong, well, he was wearing just the sarong. Nothing on top to cover his pretty hairy
chest, no slippers or anything, he had rushed, almost like an athlete running the final of an Olympics. In
his case he rushed to meet William’s father.
The Blood Brothers, by this time had retired back to where they would hear what Mr. Fernando was
saying. They were lying flat on William’s roof. If Mr. Fernando looked up he would have seen five faces
staring at him from the roof. They would see Mr. Fernando holding his heart ,his eyes almost in tears,
shaking his fist telling William’s father that he would go to the Police the next time his son did anything
naughty.
William had felt pretty bad about himself. He had felt bad about how they had treated Mr. Fernando.
Mr. Fernando was an old man, whom William felt needed a lot of love. William was sure that old
Mr. Fernando would love to tell his grandchildren stories; he would love to be engaged with them but
then he was stuck up in this old house with his children and grandchildren visiting him every two years.
All this went through in William’s mind in a flash, he knew what to do. He knew that the Blood Brothers
had been mean to Mr. Fernando. He knew that they had to go and apologize, and that is what they tried
next. Well, for this again they had met at Angelo’s place to discuss. They had come to the conclusion
that they should give old Mr. Fernando a card, a present and a hug. They had made the card. A really
beautiful thing it was. Designed by the Blood Brothers. They had said that, they were sorry for what they
had done.
It was at this moment that Angelo’s elder brother had come into the room.
Angelo’s brother had overheard their conversation. He had a mischievous smile on his face. He seemed
to be thinking to himself that finally he would pay the Blood Brothers for some of the things they had
done to him in the past.
“I overheard what you were talking about.” said Angelo’s brother entering the room.
“ You know what, Mr. Fernando loves dogs, you should be giving him a dog, and now tell me how much
pocket money do you have between your selves?” continued Angelo’s brother.
William smelt something fishy but the others seemed to believe what Angelo’s brother had said.
Before William would warn the others about the trap, the others had readily agreed to give him two
thousand rupees from the money they were collecting to buy a Drone.
This was in return for a Rottweiler puppy.
None of them had seen a Rottweiler and when Angelo’s brother brought the so called Rottweiler, the
Blood Brothers still could not see the Rottweiler. Angelo’s brother had come to help them carry the cage
to William’s place. He had come willingly, kept the cage in old Mr. Fernando’s garden. The rest they say,
was history.
Angelo’s brother had left the door of the cage open. To the horror of the Blood Brothers who were
hiding themselves, watching proceedings, the dog walked out of the cage. The dog that walked out of
the cage was no Rottweiler puppy. It was just an ordinary dog. It was no puppy either. It was an old dog
that one of Angelo’s brother’s friends had wanted to get rid of.

3. “What better chance than this.” Angelo’s brother must have thought to himself.
Coming back, the dog seemed to have taken a little stroll around its new environment, well it hadn’t
taken long before the innocent creature had been attacked.
Mr. Fernando had splashed water and separated the dogs.
In the process, however, the dog that Angelo’s brother had brought with him had bitten Mr. Fernando
on his ankles.
Mr. Fernando had seen the card that had been attached on the collar of the dog. To the horror of the
Blood Brothers he had torn it, without even glancing to see what was in it.
The Blood Brothers retreated to Angelo’s house. Things didn’t seem too good at William’s at the
moment. They also wanted get back the money from Angelo’s brother. They also knew that it was a
remote possibility.
Well for the moment, the relationship would remain as it was, enemies.
