CA CF NL Consumer Finance Nederland B.V. is a financing company that needed to revamp its outdated core banking system to drive its digital transformation strategy and outpace the competition.
CA CF NL initially intended to create only a few apps with the OutSystems low-code development platform. However, they soon realized how easy it was to replace their legacy systems as well as build new applications for other subsidiaries of their company.
Now, their plan is to continue to build native mobile apps with OutSystems and become the company’s Mobile Development Center of Excellence.

The IoT of Energy | From Smart Products to Intelligent SolutionsAdvisian
Rapid changes in consumer, business and industrial products and technologies, the proliferation of sensors and digital footprints and sophisticated data analytics are driving transformational shifts in many sectors. The energy sector has responded to this change with more energy efficient appliances, digital retail innovations and progressive smart grid investments, but this is modest relative to many others.

Companies really know the importance to enter the IoT space today because, if you don't do it.... you'll lose against your competitors.
But, nowadays, they rely on static Apps and products that not really interact with user lives. As a result, users are not engaged and IoT products don't scale.
Giving an example, insurance apps are only showcases of personal data, with simple connections to social networks and nothing more. This can’t be called IoT.
How can companies leverage the IoE and Big Data capabilities in order to better profile users, enhance his Company’s Digital strategy and win the IoT battle against the competitors?
Here's the answer.

Design and implementation of microcontroller in fpga for io tIJARIIT
One of the buzz words in the Information Technology is the Internet of Things (IoT). In coming years, IoT will
transform the objects which are present in the real world into virtual objects. IoT keep us informed about the status of objects
and controls of things in a sensor network. Sensor node comprises of the sensor, microcontroller and RF transceiver. A
microcontroller is an integrated circuit which basically performs one task and executes a particular application. It contains
programmable in/out peripherals, memory, and processor. Microcontrollers are mostly designed in view of embedded and are
used to automatically controllable systems. In digital system design microcontrollers and field programmable gate arrays
(FPGAs), both are widely used. Microcontroller based devices are becoming increasingly widespread. On one hand, high speed,
power, and falling prices make them an obvious choice whereas fast growing popularity of FPGAs, the availability of powerful
development tools and the increase in speed and high density have made FPGA based systems an alternative choice. Sensor node
controller is going to develop using VHDL with behavioral modeling which is an abstract model of the controller and breaks
down of the system into subcomponents and functional blocks.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Why low power fpga solution is ideal for iot applications
1. Why Low-Power FPGA Solution is Ideal for IoT
Applications
Source: semiconductor review
Low-power FPGA effectively remediates the primary challenges involved in
connected devices designing, such as power efficiency and interoperability across
different interfaces.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a widely popular concept lately,
often wont to illustrate a world during which virtually every device connects
to the web and every other. It comprises an extended list of applications, from
smart consumer appliances to vehicles and wearables. to succeed in the billions
of devices making up IoT ecosystem, designers will got to overcome certain
challenges, and significant among them is making IoT devices power-efficient,
and providing a processing growth path to handle increased device performance
requirements. An FPGA-based design approach can assist designers here.
Today, every aspect of the IoT devices’ design is concentrated on ensuring
that it's as energy-efficient as possible. IoT devices must be designed with
energy efficiency because the primary concern in the least levels. Most IoT
2. applications demand to be always-on, therefore the devices will consume
significant power. One approach that gives always-on solutions is using small,
low-power FPGA to watch sensors, wireless modules, and displays, or
maybe voice commands. The processors, wireless modules, and screens are
often put in standby mode until the FPGA determines the user’s got
to awaken the terminal and supply service. FPGA enables power management
by allowing the device to modify between one phase and another dynamically.
This approach offers considerable power savings, leading to longer battery life,
display lifetime, and lower thermal radiation.
An IoT product will contains several subsystems with unique functions.
Depending upon requirements, there are components for every of
those subsystems. In most cases, designers are forced to settle on components
that are solely supported interface compatibility. Fortunately, there's an
answer for incompatible interfaces—using a really small, low-cost FPGA to
bridge the interfaces. These FPGAs solve problems like interfacing with a
picture sensor when the processor doesn't support advanced image sensor
receivers.
As the IoT market grows, unique challenges arise for designing and
manufacturing these smart, connected devices. However, remediating the
common design problems are often addressed with FPGA, which offers a low-
cost, small, and low-power solution ideal for IoT applications.
